Likes
- The location of the college is quite accesible and convinient for students frkm any part of the city. It is registered with the Calcutta University which is renowned in West Bengal.
- The fees is very affordable and the college has pg's around. This is a morning college and very suitable for students who wants to engage in a job beside studying.
- The professors are very helpful and they guide you as much as possible
Dislikes
- There is no placement facility. Hardly recruiters visiting.
- Campus is not very clean, just like any other government campus.
- Social life is not very active. Students are just bothered by taking notes and writing exams. The college faculty does not take iniciatives for student engagement.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am a history honours student, Bachelor of Arts and this doesn't include any practical task. All of it is theory and the professors dictate notes time to time. We were supposed to go to a historical site as a part of tge project, and even after qlot of planning, the faculty did not execute it. We have missed out on real time college experience.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is quite affordable. Being a government institution, it has its pros. The entire course will be completed within a budget of 10,000/- maximum. The college has a library and books can be easily borrowed. Rest, the college doesn't provide any additional stationaries.
Campus Life
There were hardly any events conducted. Library is quite content with variety of availabilities of books for different courses. Classrooms are very basic, like any other government college classrooms with hardly any maintenence. There is no sports engagement. Students, at time take initiatives and run rotary programs, but there is no durability for it.
Admission
The admission process was quite smooth. All of it was online. But one thing to mention, we had to wait in question to deposit forms before each semester, did it the old school way! Honours is a three year course with each year comprising of two semesters. The apication forms and fees will be posted and updates in the college website from time to time. Keep an eye on the notice board of the website. Links are frequently available.
Faculty
The teachers are well qualified for their post and they will help you out from time to time. Suggestions and sanple wuestions will be provided to you before exams.There will be full guidance for tutorials and internals. Rest, everything will not be spoonfed.
