Course Curriculum Overview
If i talk about English hons in ignou then course is quite good. It doesn't have unnecessary subjects. All are relevant and to the point and nothing extra. In second year we have french subject as well just the basic of it. So i must say it's quite good but again open is open so i would suggest if you really want to study good don't choose open because course doesn't matter , teachers and environment matter.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was no scholarship for me at my time as I'm general . But as compared to others , the course fees is quite less. Like for my first year it was only 5200 excluding exam fees which is 1600 ( 200/- per subject) and if your course requires practical examinations so i think 300/- per subject
Campus Life
As it's open University, you don't get any real college life experience. So if you're choosing ignou, don't expect any of these. There's nothing . You just give exams and get degree that's it. if you want to experience all of these then go to regular college and choose sol or ignou. They are for those who want to work simultaneously. I chose this as i wanted to be a cabin crew and I'm right now but i would suggest if it's not that urgent to earn then please join a good regular college.
Admission
So anyone can pursue eng hons who has completed 12th with 45 or 50 percentage. After that you need to apply for course you're interested in like eng hons so you apply online on their website. Fill the form and pay . There are two sessions june-july and dec-jan so for whichever you're comfortable, you can apply during that time. Date exceeds but then you'll have to pay extra around 200 or 300. In eng hons , you have to give exams once a year. If you're in june session then next year in june you'll have to give exams and same goes for December. If you were not able to give exams in june then you can give in December as well. It's very flexible.
Faculty
Actually out of 4-5 counsellors, only 2 counsellors used to come to attend the classes. But their teaching style was amazing and their qualifications as well. One of them is phd holder and also studied at miranda house du.
