Course Curriculum Overview

3

The Delhi university system of semester examinations and weightage to practical's and assignments made sure that students does not rely heavily on cramming for the final exams only . The course structure is comprehensive in terms of covering all vital and relevant topics . Even for programme students the faculty as well as major part of course is same and relevant and also provides an opportunity to pursue your ig in 2 subjects with equal importance if you are not sure of your specialisation and gives you a chance to explored.

Placement Experience

3

Placements are decent for B.com ,Bsc (cs) and bms students as well as other courses . Though many people opt for higher studies and also humanities students go to competitive government exams like upsc , ssc cgl etc the number of students not seeking placement are also quite a lot . I now have decided to pursue an mba and got admission at IIM UDAIPUR after clearing cat exam and. Successive interviews. DE shaw and Accenture , Infosys etc are some prominent names visiting campus. De shaw offers a ctc of around 20LPA. Students in final semester become ellligible for placement and can secure offers before final examinations.

Fees and Financial Aid

The placement cell is quite active and numerous students in professional course like bcom , bsc and bms recieve decent opportunities. Even DE Shaw came last year for the placement. Also other good companies are available if you are interested. For humanities students mostly seeking civil services examinations opportunities are good enough to ready them for higher studies .Scolarships and financial assistance are there according to govt schemes. The grievance and redressal system helps you get them if you are eligible under EWS , nc- obc or other categories.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is vibrant with a good fest , active societies and vibrant groups of people . DNA , rotaract etc are some good societies that are see. Quite active . NSS is there along with many other extracurricular opportunities and societies. Shivranjani is music society. Similarly there are societies for everyone which can accomodate their interests as well as boost their learning.

Admission

When I got admission in 2020 the merit list was prepared for admission based on class 12 board examinations. I got 94.2 in class 12 and took admission in 1st list itself. I think the last cut off was around 87-88 percent marks for general category. The process is shifted to curt exam now .All reservations are according to government norms . You can apply online via Delhi university or college website after knowing the cutoff. Announcement regarding admission are made public via all means by Delhi university itself for all the colleges .

Faculty

4

The faculty for my subjects that were Economics and Mathematics were decently good . Rajesh sir and Pappu anuragi sir have done their higher studies from iit Bombay and other prominent institutions. Economics faculty is good with teachers like Isha Gangwani mam whose teaching methadology is great . Saurabh sir gives a realistic approach to students and the faculty are actively involved in research and discussion around the subject in contemporary world .

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh University - [CU] | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] (Banking and Finance)

As I became interested in UPSC Examination I decided to go to Delhi university for better exposure and opportunities.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
