Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Instrumentation and control engineering is an electrical stream course that includes all the fundamental electrical and electronics subjects. Also, this course specialises in control engineering. Though the curriculum is tougher than the EEE and ECE, it would give you a good outcome when you graduate. The curriculum is updated every four years by a committee consisting of professors from well-known institutions of the country, industrial professionals, and expert faculties. This helps the students to perform well in the industry. The internal exams were conducted twice a semester in recent times and the semester exams will be in May and November. The exam pattern follows Bloom's Taxonomy which tests the cognitive skills in six different forms.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Summer interships are offered by various companies. Some of them includes Microsoft (100000 Per month), DE Shaw (160000 per month), ExxonMobil (40000 per month), Walmart (100000 per month) NVIDIA (85000 per moth) etc.

Placement Experience

5

The students get eligible for placements in their 5th semester as the companies will be hiring the students for summer internships. PPO (Pre Placement Offers) will be given to the students who perform well in the summer internships. During the final year, the students are eligible to appear in the FTE placement drives. Top MNCs including Fortune 500 companies visit the campus every year to select an ample amount of students. Some of the companies include Microsoft, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Paypal, Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Caterpillar, Schneider Electric etc. The highest package offered will go around 50+ LPA and the average package will be around 10 LPA. More than 80% of the students from every stream will get placed with a good package.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee for a year would be around 85000 for the students selected through the general engineering counselling. It would go up to 1.5 Lakhs for the students from the management quota. The hostel fees for a year will cost from 90000 to 130000 based on the type of room the student chooses. Many scholarships were provided under different schemes for deserving students. Students can work in the library as part-time assistants which helps them to satisfy their financial needs.

Campus Life

4.5

A massive library is on the campus that offers a wide collection of books. Subscriptions for the leading journals will be provided for every student. More than 150 events will be conducted every year that are entirely organised by the students. Two national-level symposiums will be conducted annually. Several sports activities are organised for the well-being of the students. 30+ Clubs and 40+ Associations are established to improve the technical and leadership qualities of the students.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel rooms are classified based on the number of occupants. A hostel student committee is formed every year to address the issues faced by the students. The menu for the mess for every year is discussed In the meetings. Meal quality is above average. A high-speed WiFi facility is provided for the student use.

Admission

The eligibility of the course depends on the cutoff mark of the students which is calculated based on the marks obtained by the students in their class 12 examinations. The admissions are based on the TNEA counselling. Some % of students are admitted through management quota. The cutoff would be quite higher for the general and BC candidates as it is one of the established institutions in the country.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:15 which is quite good. The faculties are well qualified. Their expertise in the subject helps us to gain more insights into the course. The faculties wouldn't care about your background and will comfortably treat the students. Students can approach the faculty at any time to seek guidance or to clarify their doubts. Meetings will be conducted to analyse the students' performance in the exams and things will be improved in the successive tests. Students will be encouraged to spend time in labs, do projects and publish journal papers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
