Remarks

Primarily I would suggest the college library should be upgraded to have a bigger floor space. And then the college management must strive hard to provide enough opportunities for Non-IT students in Campus placements.

Entrance Preview

Primarily the reviews which I got from my seniors about this college and its faculty members especially Mechanical dept. faculty members were overwhelming but apart from reviews I personally paid a visit to the college and just by looking at its infrastructure you feel satisfied enough and then the reviews backed me up to take up an admission in this college without any hesitation.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Currently, a lot of changes are been implemented in the field of upgrading and updating the course structure for B.E currently we are having a CBCS (Credit Based Choice System). But yet the University must implement a lot of further changes to the B.E Courses by adding new subjects which are very much essential in current life and discard the old/primitive subjects which are of no use in current life.

Internships Opportunities

Yeah, recently our college is providing us with an opportunity to carry out internships in ATTIS (3D Printing) for a period of a month. But there is no provision for any stipends for any of the internships offered by our college.

Placement Experience

1.5

There are not many placements for Mechanical branch students or Electrical and Civil branches, But the placements happen on a Large-scale for EC and CS branches. Approximately 30-40% of the students from EC/CS branch get placed every year, and the percentage drops to 5-10% for the other branches. The highest pay for the last year placement was 8LPA, which is the package offered by McCafe to an IT (CSE) Student. Most of the companies offer a pay in the range of 2-3.5 LPA. We do have a placement cell, but only those who are well versed in communication and academics have a great chance to get through and get a placement. (Companies which Come for the placements vary every year). Altogether the placements in JCE for an IT student is pretty good but if you are not an IT student then the placements over here are very poor.

College Events

2.5

Every year our college conducts a national level techno-cultural fest for 2-3 days in the month of either March/April. We get a pretty decent crowd and a lot of participants from various colleges. Apart from the cultural events, we do have a Go-Kart team which has successfully fabricated a Gokart and stood 6th in the ISK event (National Ranking), and it was a great achievement for our college. We have a Lead association in our college to do social and charity works. Every year our college conducts various technical workshops offered by all the branches respectively for their students which helps in enhancing our technical skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure in JCE :- 1) For Merit seat through KCET - Rs. 70,000/- per year 2) For ComedK seat - Rs. 1.1lakh per year 3) For Management seat - 1 lakh initial donation + 1 lakh per year If you compare the fee structure of our college with any of the colleges in Belgaum you would notice that comparatively we have a better and worthy fee structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers an ePASS scholarship for those students who fall under the category of minorities, the scholarship amount received per student is Rs.17,500 yearly. The scholarship can be availed in any semester but at the start of the year and this needs to be updated every year to avail this scholarship for the following years until the course is completed.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio in our college is 60:40 (Boys: Girls) and since our college is still new, many developments are still going on. But you would be astonished by seeing our college premises, its too clean and everything is perfectly placed. We have an open auditorium where we organize all our college fests. We have classrooms well-equipped with green boards and nice benches, and then we have 3 Canteens, 2 xerox shops and a big playground, apart from these the Washrooms are very tidy and clean. We have a lift facility in our college, the only thing I don't like about the college infrastructure is the library it's too small.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel Facility in our college is been started from this year itself but its only for the Boys and one room is to be shared by 2 Boys. But there are only a few rooms available as of now. As the hostel is pretty new ,the rooms are clean enough and are equipped with a Wifi facility but the major drawback is the food, we dont get proper food in our hostel. The average monthly rental of the hostel rooms including the food is 3500 per head.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes , before joining the college i spoke to many of the pass out students and students studying in Jain college for their reviews about the college and all the reviews were very optimistic and all that they had to say about the college was the teaching in the college, its incomparable with any other college located in Belgaum and these interactions with the senior students made me take up a firm decision and join this college.

Exam Structure

The exam pattern for B.E courses is 80(External Exam)+20(Internal Exam) = Total of 100 marks. The Internal 20 marks are further divided into 15 marks for Internal exams and 5 marks for assignments. The External paper has 5 modules with each module fetches you 16marks and each module comprises 2 Q's and we need to opt for any 1Q from each module. Overall the exam structure is quite good and reliable and I feel no-one should have any worries clearing all subjects with such an exam structure.

Admission

There are three ways as to how one can get a admission in Jain College (JCE):- 1) By getting a decent KCET Score 2) ComedK Seat 3) Management Seat I got admission in this college by getting a decent score in KCET and then opting for JCE in the CET Counselling.

Faculty

5

If you are joining the Mechanical branch, I would say the Faculty is just awesome! If you compare all over the Belgaum, I think we have the best of the faculty members. You will surely gain a lot of knowledge, and all the faculty members are student-friendly if need any help you can approach any of the faculty members anytime, and they will make sure to help you out of it. And our HOD sir is brilliant he manages everything in a very systematic way. Mechanical faculty of our college undoubtedly deserves 10 on 10.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
