Course Curriculum Overview
As a CSE student at Asansol Engineering College, the faculty of the CSE department is very helpful and the college also provides different extra classes for the preparation for the placement. The teachers are good, there is no need for improvement in the teaching methods the teachers are very senior teachers. The duration of the internal exam is 1 hrs and for the semester it is 3 hours.
Internships Opportunities
The college doens't provide that much opportunity for intership but it provides company with full time job opportunities. The minimum package is 3.5 lakh and can go upto 22 lakhs. The project can be done on web developement or in machine learning for get a good job.
Placement Experience
The company starts hiring students in the 7th semester. Companies such as tcs, Accenture,virtusa, Salesforce, etc. visit to hire students. The highest package this year is 22 lakhs and the average package is 3.5 lakh. This year less than 50 percent of students get placement due to recession. I have a plan for further studies after completing the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee is 5.5 lakh for a cse student excluding the hostel and mess charges. There is a late fee fine if you fail to pay fees in the given time period. There are many students who are studying through financial aid, the students can study through the the aid provided by the central or the state government. Different scholarships are also available for students either by state or by central government. This year placement rates have gone down by almost 80 percent.
Campus Life
The annual fest is divided into two categories one is for technical events known as infoquest and the other is known as leganza. The fest is usually organized in the month of March or April. The college library is the biggest library in the Barddhaman district. You can find all kinds of books related to your course of study. There are different inter-college, inter-hostel, and departmental tournaments organized by the college. There are different clubs such as hardware club, sports club, and robotics club in the college.
Admission
To be eligible you must have more than 60 percent in your secondary as well as in senior secondary examination. To take admission you have to appear for the wbjee entrance exam and clear the cutoff for the college. The exam is not so tough the question can solved easily if you have studied NCERT. The admission process needs no improvement.
Faculty
For 50 students there is 1 faculty member in the classroom. For practical classes, there are 2 faculty per 39 students. The labs have systems with the latest OS. The faculties are helpful and are ready to clear any doubt you have at any time. You can go to the teacher directly if you have any difficulty. Every classroom has a projector fitted and the faculty uses that for teaching the students.
