Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The timing of exams is pretty hard to overcome as multiple CAT exams have been conducted both forenoon and the afternoon for several years according to the subjects. Extra credits can be earned by using OE subjects and NPTEL exams chosen by the students. But people who prefer IT jobs are restricted only to taking subjects related to programming languages.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships in the Food Technology Department are said to be only availed by the students themselves. And the final year projects are allowed to be done with the company itself. During the final year, students are allowed to do their internships and permission is necessary from the Department HOD.

Placement Experience

2

Campus placement is pretty poor in the Food Technology department. From the 3rd year itself, you may get placement opportunities according to your skill sets and luck. Internships are allowed from the final year itself and subjects can be skipped using credits earned with NPTEL or language courses. Departments other than Food Technology are heard that having a good placement going on. Especially IT sector jobs are much preferred for the placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the people applying from government counseling may get an annual fee structure of ?1,00,000/- and from management it's ?1,25,000/- for our batch. And it is said to be an increased fee structure for present students in all departments. I'm from the Food Technology Department B.Tech and also various scholarships are being provided based on the categories and first graduates. The hostel fee has been increased to 80,000 per annum including food, stay, and snacks. The donations may vary from department to department and high for IT and CS.

Campus Life

4

Focusing on social aspects such as participating in events and club activities are very famous in the college and events are conducted throughout the year. The library is available for a good amount of time and be very helpful for borrowing books and gaining knowledge. Also, the college supports sports and extracurricular activities and has a big space of ground with separate spaces for Kabaddi, cricket, volleyball.. etc

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel when compared with other colleges, it's a pretty value-for-money experience. The food is good and snacks with tea are provided daily. And they conduct hostel day and sports day inside the hostel. The rooms and toilets are decent and clean. Single rooms are also available. Current supply 24/7 even in rainy seasons and heaters are available. Maintenance is good and security for each hostel. Separate hostels for each year. A good amount of space for washing clothes. Also, laundry is available nearby but not getting the clothes on time which is not preferred. Outside foods are allowed by ordering online food and collected from the gate. Pretty much a good experience with hostel life.

Admission

There are several colleges that are way better than KEC but in considering the fee if you really want to do Food Technology this is preferred. But don't expect placements and jobs related to the core. For those who prefer IT sector jobs this college is preferred and it's worth the money.

Faculty

3

The faculties are pretty good and supportive in helping with the core subjects. The CAT exams are evaluated 2 out of 3 for the internal marks. Practical labs are pretty much easier to score the internal marks and the final semester evaluated for 50 as your externals and 50 as internals. Systems are pretty simple to crack and overall attendance is very important.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
