BEST IN ODISHA AFTER IIT BBSR AND NIT RKL.

In the college I would say the syllabus and curriculum of core branches are good but that of non core branches really need to be reviewed coz those things doesn't help in placement anymore . Students are forced to take time out of their academics to study other stuffs and develop there skills.

Internship and other informations are regularly provided through mails and whatsapp grps to the students. It's upto you to choose the one and start applying for them. You need to submit project file at TnP cell of the college after your internship is over.

Placement is moderate overally. Avg package for non core is arnd 5.5-6 lpa where as for core it is from 9-12lpa. 60days of mandatory internship is required to sit in the placements. College TnP cell coordinats all these activities and every student is informed through WhatsApp and mail if any new company approaches the college with all the details in there.

I have TFW (tuition fee waver) since admission becoz of my rank so I pay around 14k for academics and 11k for hostel on an average for every semester. Where as self sustained ppl pay 60k total each sem and non TFW pays 35k total each sem. In my opinion the college is very affordable since it's under govt. Of odisha . And talking about scholarships the college doesn't offer anything from their side you have to get it from other sources.

Campus Life is quite good if u have a good friends group therea lot of places you can visit .both natural and urban. And club culture is quite strong in VSSUT you can choose any technical or cultural club of your choice and participate in their inductions conducted by your seniors only. Sports club esp football and volleyball are very active. Other social clubs like NSS,SOKS are there as well and NCC as well.

4 PPL are forced to live in a room of 3 with 3 shelfs but 4 beds. One of you have to share the shelf. Wifi is there in most of the hostels but sometimes they don't work and they are very slow generally. Mess food is good is some and worst in some hostels . Overally it's quite moderate and menu is decent. there are rented room around the hostels as well if u don't want to stay in hostels and they are a little costly (like 8-9k more per year).

I wanted a sit in NIT rkl but I couldn't due to the 1500 rank only. and I am a native of Odisha so I had to study here. In Odisha, after NIT rkl there were two big names one was CET (now OUTR) and VSSUT. Vssut had a better location and my other friends were also joining so I joined. Addmission process was smooth. everything was informed through the mail and all.

I am enrolled in 4yr btech course with 8 semesters.each semester we have a mid sem and end sem exam of 30 and 50 marks respectively. And lab exams just before end sem each semester. The syllabus is common for every branch in 1st year but then they have their respective branch subjects. Marking scheme compelty depends on the teacher some teachers and linient whereas if u r unlucky u will find a horrible faculty who will ruin your cgpa. Questions and normally textbook oriented.
