Likes
- Things I like most about my college is that many events are being conducted here by different clubs which helps freshers or newbies get the required exposure and there are a lot of places to spend time with your friends, the teachers are helpful
- Friends can be easily made here as you will meet a lot students here form diffrent parts of India . Diversity is quite good here
- Even for north Indians it's not at all difficult to make friends and communicate as many children come from north side here even the staff at the hostel are comfortable in both hindi and english people are quite cooperative. Time passes here so quily
Dislikes
- The inn timmings for hostel are quite early as you have to enter the hostel before 9 if you are a boy and if a girl then it's 8 so thats a problem as you can't roam anywhere you want after 9
- Some faculties are too inclined towards south indian students . If there will be a fight between northie and south guy they will definitely try and save the south guy . But this kind of thinking is not in every teacher but yes it exit here
- The worst thing is that you can't go outside campus for 1 semester and after sometime it will feel like a jail which you want to escape and freshers always wait for diwali as it first time they escape jail in 3 months
Course Curriculum Overview
Actually I am studying the electronic and computer science engineering course here and I choose this branch as this is the best option after cse as this is the hybrid branch of both cs and electronics. The curriculum is quite captivating and Intersting evey subject like electrical , physics carries the topics which are very interesting like working of some engines , modals, the projects included helps us know more about the subject and the things arround us.The areas where teaching method has to be improved is like the teaching should be made more practical rather than theoretical so that student take more interest in learning it .the frequency of exam is okk like cat 1 and cat2 have a gap of 1 month as only 2 units come in there exams respectively same gap is there for fat which is one month.
Internships Opportunities
TCS , AMAZON, GOOGLE the roles offered are software development, data analytics,web development, embedded system development, research and development inter etc . The projects are like developing solutions for secure data transmission
Placement Experience
The campus placements are quite good if you compare with other pvt colleges . Student get eligible for campus placements from 6 th semester and a lot of companies vist every year with good amount of offers including dream super dream offers. The highest package so far was 1.02 cr and average is 20 lakhs per annum. As there is recessions going in the market so percentage of students being placed as dipping a bit . Like it's 89% in 2024 last year it was 91%. So yes it depends upon the market conditions at the time.the main goal after getting the degree would be to get a good job or go for higher studies then like mtech or MBA still figuring it out but first aim will be to take the placement
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees is 300k.tution fees is around 3 laksh with lab , development fess included and caution deposit of 30 k Fees of batchmates for 1 year is according to catagory like it's 300k , 400k 500k per year .
Campus Life
The college is full of events whether it's club events or college fests the club events such as Uday , wakhra punjab take place which are quite good you have to pay a certain amount but it will be enjoyable. The college conducts 2 fests one is technical fest called techno vit other is cultural event vibrance . The sports facilities are quite good like cricket football volleyball hockey etc the special tournaments are being organised having different sports where you have to just find people to make a team and give a amount and play and win .Campus life here is great .evey festival is celebrated here whether is onam or Ganesh chaturthi or Holi they celebrated with full enthusiasm.
Admission
The colleges i applied for was dtu and nsut which is through jac counseling as I got 96 percentile in jee mains in 2024 but I got a rank of 80 k which made it difficult for me to get a decent or good branch in there colleges , vit was as a backup and even I was getting the desired branch with the same fees so I choose this college . The branch I was getting in dtu was biotech engineering in which I have 0 interest in so for branch I rejected it and went for vit as it's also one of the top pvt engineering colleges .the admission process is quite simple for vit first complete the class 12 and get 60% (pcm) to get elegible for entrance and the viteee is the entrance which vit takes . The paper is of 125 marks each question carrying one mark each no negative marking is there. The result comes which only have your rank in it . And if you are having a rank about 100 k you are not eligible for counseling in vit Vellore or chennai.rank below can apply and get course acc to fees catagory.
Faculty
Look vit Chennai takes 3 exams per semester cat-1( 50 marks test), cat-2( 50 marks open book test) then a fat ( final assessment test of 100 marks ) at the end of semester. The difficulty level of cat 1 is easy and cat 2 is quite difficult as it's a open book test for fat it remains moderate but yes if you fail in fat you have to pay 6000 to retake the exam .the faculty here is quite good they are quite supportive honestly they always ask you to come to their personal cabin for your doubts after the class. The faculty I like the the most is physics faculty Caroline ponraj she is the best teacher ever she explains everything quite well and is easily approachable and she is very sweet . The one I dislike the most is maths faculty chitraponu she actually just doesn't know anything looks like she is just reading the answers that she learnt full night before the class her speed of teaching is just too fast . overall faculties are great and sweet .but yes evey coin has 2 sides .
