Course Curriculum Overview

3

As far as teaching methods go, a more non-monotonus direction of teaching would greatly improve the retention of students, also repetition of topics in a few subjects was what I frequently observed during my time over there, which could take some work to be minimised in the curriculum as it breeds boredom and sleepiness as a student. The difficulty and the frequency of exams is all right it's just that majority of the course is taught during the last few days before the exam which makes us students feel overly stressed due to the load of not being able to plan and cover each topic that was freshly taught

Internships Opportunities

2

There are very minimal internship opportunities with maximum stipend being offered around 15k. Many companies seeking marketing oriented individual are available. Pure science roles are few and far between and the student has to search for them themself.

Placement Experience

3

I cannot give a valid feedback on the placements since I haven't been a part of one from our college. But I believe they have started it from this year onwards and will continue it for the foreseeable future. Our seniors have all been placed around the world with average package being 7lpa. Most of the students of my course have opted for further studies abroad joining other institutions as PhD scholars.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fees that I paid were pretty consistent never exceeding 2 lakh, but have certainly increased a bit since I joined as during the 1st year it was 1.7lk which included the 28k development fee that they charge each year. In the 5th year the fee was 1.9lk including the development fee which remained the same. The fee structure for B.Tech Biotechnology course is also pretty much the same except for the fact that they only have 4 year instead of 5. The fee structure might have changed for the new batches. As far as scholarships go, at our time they used to conduct their own entrance exam or considered NEET/JEE/MHTCET marks, which I believe above 90 percentile used to give a certain scholarship on the 1st year fees

Campus Life

4

Cytosoul is the name of the cultural fest which is held every year during Feb and March. It is usually held within campus and is generally 3 days long with the final day being held in the Medical campus auditorium. Along with this a sports fest is also held which involves students from all DY Patil institutions in Pune, it is called UMANG as far as I remember. There's a Freshers held every year during August which is conducted to welcome the new batch. Finally there's also a Farewell held for the graduating batches during October. Clubs are varied ranging from Science club to Photography to Art to Gaming to Sports which are some of the prominent ones. There is no sports played on campus except maybe some indoor stuff All classrooms are equipped with atleast a projector if not a smartscreen for teaching and extracurricular purposes. Library is really well equipped when it comes to Biotechnology related books and one can find all of them related to his/her current curriculum.

Admission

I also applied for the DY Patil Akurdi branch which offered B.Tech in Biotechnology with a similar fee structure and even got into it, I changed to DYPBBI due to the unique Integrated course they offered which provided a Masters degree in a 5 years course. The addmission process is quite straightforward and is hassle free most of the time as the college looks after it with great interest. They mostly require the 12 pass certificate along with a minimum 60% marks in the 12 board exam. NEET /JEE/ MHTCET were also considered during my time of addmission.

Faculty

4

During my time here I have met some brilliant faculty members and each of them have been engraved in my mind. I have also watched them work on the criticism provided, albeit not always in a positive direction but have witnessed their growth as teachers. Contrastingly I have also seen some faculty more abstinent than plastic itself when it comes to degrading while not harming nature, what I meant to say was that overall about 30% of them are amazing when it comes to delivering knowledge and values whereas the other 70% can be considered sub par or lacking the fitness to be even teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Placement Experience:

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
