Course Curriculum Overview
The course is a typical bcom hons course which could use a lot of changes and practicality to make it relevant to todays world of skill requirement and volatile market conditions. The fact that this course touches the aspects of entrepreneurship, finance, economics, accounts etc are my areas of interests which led me to the decision of pursuing this course. The frequency of exams happening are in every 5 months which are the months of december-january and may-june.
Internships Opportunities
The placement cell is very much active in providing internship opportunities to students of all the courses. Internships are offered in various roles to the students like HR intern or content writing etc. in new age startups, marketing agencies and corporate spaces.
Placement Experience
My plan is to prepare for CAT exam for MBA. In Ramanujan college depending upon the course which is bcom hons one student did a lot of internships and skill development and got a package of upto 19 lakhs per annum and the lowest can be as low as 2-3 lpa. there are some courses for which no placement drive is conducted like philosophy honours etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is nominal and almost all the courses charge the same amonut of fee with marginal differences of 500-2000. My college is Ramaunaj college in DU. DU does provide concessions for students who come from economically low background and those who have an EWS certificate. Except that all colleges that come under DU only charge the yearly fee and there is no as such caution fees or admission fees or development fees or lab fees. DU doesnt provide scholorships as such as the fee is already is so nominal and even my batchmates fees is also around 22000 per year. But overall in all the colleges of DU the yearly fee varies with some colleges charging as low as 8000-9000 a year to more than 20000 a year. There is no management quota as such in any college of DU.The fees has increased in the past years with a hike of around 1300 rupees but that is too after a long time. So my course which is Bcom honours charges around 22000.
Campus Life
The annual fest event is called Josh which is held once in every year and there is a garba event which is held during the navratri. there are a lot of societies and cells for the students to join and have real world exposure of the work and world out there which is also a great opportunity for the students to connect and network with other people. the library present is vast and holds a lot of books and journals in most subjects to study. there are many sports that the students can participate in like football, volleyball and cricket. there is also a gym present in the college.
Admission
My priority was to come to delhi and experience the exposure of DU but before that i applied to christ and symbiosis and got into both but eventually selected DU. the admission for du happens through their csas portal and a series of rounds are conducted which allots students colleges and their preferred course according to their course.
Faculty
Semester wise exams are held in DU although semesters span are reduced with a time span from 6 months to 4 months ior 5 months. The level of exams are somewhat moderate and the course curriculum is still somewhat relevant to real world demands but still there are a lot of stundents in every course that somehow fail to clear the exams of 1-2 subjects in their course. Faculties are easilty approachable and will most probably help students and the relationship is most of the time good. As per my experience, the faculties that i dealt with were all good to me so i dont dislike any of them.
Other Applied Colleges
Christ University | BBA
DU was the priority and I had gotten admission in DU Ramanujan College
