Faculty

1. Faculty Members at Ramanujan College Faculty-to-Student Ratio: One of the strengths of Ramanujan College is its relatively favorable faculty-to-student ratio. This ensures that students receive personalized attention, and the smaller classroom sizes foster a better learning environment. This ratio allows for meaningful interactions and ensures that students can engage in discussions with their professors both in and outside of class. Approachability and Student-Faculty Relationship: The faculty members at Ramanujan College are known for being approachable and student-friendly. Many professors go beyond formal lectures and offer mentorship, which encourages students to reach out for academic guidance, career advice, and even personal challenges. The faculty often conducts one-on-one sessions and remedial classes to assist students who may be struggling with the curriculum. Best Faculties: Some of the faculty members I particularly liked include Dr. (Name) from the Commerce Department, who has an exceptional ability to break down complex financial concepts into easy-to-understand examples. Prof. (Name) from Computer Science is highly engaging, making technical subjects like programming more accessible through interactive teaching methods and case studies. Additionally, Dr. (Name) from Economics is well-known for encouraging critical thinking and has inspired students to look at economics beyond textbooks, applying it to real-world scenarios. Faculties I Didn’t Like: While most faculty members are highly skilled and approachable, there may be a few professors who rely heavily on traditional, lecture-based teaching, which sometimes feels disconnected from the practical application of the subject. In particular, Prof. (Name) from (Department) may have room for improvement in terms of teaching style, as classes felt more monotonous and less engaging. 2. Course Structure The course structure at Ramanujan College is well-designed to provide a balanced and in-depth

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
