the college faculties are helpfull and co operative...
the college provides healthy environment to grow in studies
the college library consists enough books and one can easily use them

Dislikes

the college campus area is not very spacious
the location of the college is in the outskirts of the city.. sometimes connectivity becomes a problem
the chances for sports is not so good in the college area.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is pretty much based on to real world applications and also the faculties delve deep into the theory part for students who are willing further academic pursuit however if the college organises internships we will get better Inhand experiences

Placement Experience

The placement even in the recession period is quite good in the college if we compare with others.. The students are eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem.. Many companies like tcs accenture j. P. Morgan. Wipro visits the college on campus drive and offer jobs to bunch of students in the college ... Our college students have got highest 30lpa job in jpmorgan where as average packages lies between 6-7 lpa.. And almost more than 85 percent student gets place every year

Fees and Financial Aid

The total 4 year course fee to be paid for 2024 batch is 697000. The total sum to be paid in 8 semesters... The semester fees gets less with ongoing semester in the 1st and 2nd sem one need to pay near about 95k in the 3 rd and 4th is 83 k approx and in 5 and 6 th it's 80k and the remaining amount in the last two sem.. There are some govt scholarships available for domicile students like svmcm one can avail them if criteria meets..

Campus Life

The campus is not spacious but it consists all the basic amenities.. The college holds two fests every year one of them being annual festi and the other one is techfest... The college labs and classroom are good and all needed things are there.. The sports overview of the college is not so bright to be honest ... The college student also run clubs like techclub and sports club also eco cultural clubs

Admission

I chose this college because the college is well known to give a good package job after the completion of the course... If we compare the college with others in the field it has much more upperhand on the academic aspects due to its faculties and infrastructures.. . . One can join the college through wbjee Or jee mains exam...

Faculty

The faculties are pretty friendly and helpfull.. They co operate with students and give enough study material to go through for exam.. The college is under makaut university. The university holds two sem in a year... And there are continuos assesments held by the college faculties in between the semesters..

Interview Experience

One can admit in the college by taking either wbjee Or jee mains exam.. Where as only 10 percent seat are filled through jee main result.. But 80 percent seats are filled through wbjee .. No extra gd Or test will be taken in the time of admission

Likes

The IIT brand value.Great placements and internship opportunities
Competitive peers and lots of ongoing.Great environment
Lush green campus, lots to explore and great infrastructure

Dislikes

Rigorous academics, hectic exam schedules
Hostel infrastructure is quite old and mess food quality is just acceptable.
Professors teaching style can be quite boring as well

Placement Experience:

Placement statistics of IIT Kharagpur is excellent with multiple offers made across software, quant, consulting , analytics and core domain.Major companies like Google, Microsoft, Optiver, Visa,Mastercard visit the campus each year for recruitment.Highest packages are offered by quant companies and can go upto 2 - 2.5 crore per annum

Good Internship Opportunities

Likes

Helpful Faculties, the faculties over here helped us through out the course
Good clean and green campus with water supply at different places in the campus
Structured syllabus for industrial readiness in the curriculum

Dislikes

Nothing such I have disliked, but some classrooms projector did not functioned properly
Some time the guards unnecessarily behaved rude which I hated the most

Placement Experience:

The placement cell provides us with training programs and internships and also if the students are careful and disciplined in the classroms they can crack through job interviews. There is mock viva at the end semester and also some on campus hiring companies came in our college.

The college provides a moderately good infrastructure so it is more or less good. However some lab equipments have gotten old so upgrading those would be appreciated.
The teachers and students are very friendly so interacting is very easy. Teachers are mostly experienced and quite knowledgeable in their field of expertise. However the college follows the curriculum suggested by makaut which feels outdated.

Dislikes

The college doesn't give any options to play anything in college in their free time so that's an issue in my opinion. Also college isn't keen on giving NOCs for internships. Also they don't tend to provide funding to projects developed by students.

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

mostly from end of third year students start getting campus placements and companies like TCS AND WIPRO HIRE MAJORITY of the students. The average package is 450000 and highest package every year goes upto 9-12 lakhs per annum. I want to go into core Electronics domain for which I am preparing for masters as no core electronics companies come in this college

GOOD College at low fees.

Likes

The campus is very big of the college which is about 50 acres and very greenly campus
The events and clubs with sports held in campus is very good and very happening
The placement opportunities in this college is very good and the faculties are very supportive

Dislikes

The infrastructure is bit old and renovates it bit very late which impact in bit difficulty
The senior are very supportive but at the same time they are very strict regarding the discipline which they call it ragging
The location of the college is bit outside of the main city so you can find it bit difficulty in your starting days of living here

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

lab circumtances are lightly good.we can share our opinion their.
use of projector is very helpful for us .
faculties behaviour is good ,they are quite helpful toward us.

small area campus is that what I do not like
canteen facilities are not good enough .
small space library are not enough for all students

after 6th sem those students who scored above 7 CGPA are eligible for campus placements. name of companies- TCS,Campgemini,Accenture,Delloite etc. average package -320000 70 percent most of students got placed. I want to job at IT sector after getting the degree.

Fair college according to me

Likes

The college management is really up to the mark. I am from the computer science and engineering department.
Good placements according to the amount you pay.
Good environment for coding and development.

Dislikes

There are a lot of extra clubs which are not so functional.
Hostels are good but not up to the mark .
The play ground is available but not inside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Our college provide really good placements if the student is really eligible for employment. There are adequate no. Of companies visiting the campus. Some big companies are - MICROSOFT, LAB VANTAGE, DELTAX, RTCAMP, DELOITTE, ACCENTURE, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS, IBM, MUSIGMA, TIGER ANALYTICS, KEY SIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, KEYENCE, MANIKARAN POWER, TCS, E&Y etc. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the avarage is around 5 - 6 lpa. Placements are better for cse, it and ece. The core branches have mediocre placements.

The library system is good. With many authors and writers available.
The faculty is helpful and coperative.The faculty helps the students in their studies and day to day problems faced in the college.
The classrooms are enough big to accommodate the strength chosen by the faculty.

Dislikes

The labs are not very well equipped. The monitors and PC are back dated versions.
The washrooms are not very well maintained and they stink.
The faculties are not very helpful in the project work and personal academic life of the students.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students are allowed to sit for placement. Tcs, wipro, Capgemini are the mass recruiters of our college. Other companies visit as well Deloitte, accenture and many more. The average package being is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest being around 10 lakhs per annum.

The college campus is very big and beautiful.
The cultural fests and annual fest is also great.
The ganga ghat is really close from the college.

Dislikes

The faculty is bullshit .some profs are ok,but some are horrible.
The college hostels accommodation is really bad
The ratio of girls to boys is very poor.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is okay and companies like google, Microsoft, Capgemini ,Tata,Mahindra also comes during placement.The off campus placement record is also fantastic.The were scenarios in the past years where few students got packages like 50-70 lpa.

You can focus on gate, or any other job teachers are helpful no issue of attendance.
easily pass as syllabus is not hard,and get a B.tech degree.

Dislikes

poor infracture, lack of resources such as sports facility.
Less qualified teachers with no PHDs, and familiar with basic knowledge.
No placements, whatever you can do is off campus only

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is perceived as average , lacking specific elements that might make it stand out. In my case, the motivation was not to waste a year by opting for a drop. The flexibility in attendance which let me focus on other interests. The curriculum is same as MAKAUT, and the exam frequency is also controlled by MAKAUT .Areas of improvement is infrastructure and better faculty.

Things you should know before taking admission in NSEC

Others college which i got confirmed is RIT /quantum and haridwar university but i didn't go there because it was very far from my hometown and placement wasn't that much good as compared to my current college. I have given the west bengal joint entrance exam(wbjee) and through it the nsec college was allotted to me through counselling process. Passing out in 2025, have seen a old place in 2021, to a new college in 2025, rennovated

I had a senior in my locality, 2019 passout, following whom I joined NSEC. I still admire and thank him for guiding me while joining NSEC. While admission I didint face any kind of interview. I had got a rank in WBJEE, and during the first counselling round, I selected NSEC, got NSEC, and finalized it by paying the first semester fees. I wasnt rejected by any college, as I went ahead with my first option. The counselling round at college isnt anything special, just a question whether or not we would be able to bear the college fees, as all comes down to money.
