Course Curriculum Overview

the curriculum balances theory and practical's, covering AI and cloud computing , making it industry relevant . Improvements include adding electives and modern teaching methods . Exams are timely and moderately challenging

Internships Opportunities

Chitkara university offers internships with companies like Amazon, Wipro , and TCS, providing stipends of ?10000-?25000. Roles include Software Development , Data analytics and marketing with real world project experience

Placement Experience

Placements begin in the 6th semester. Companies like Amazon , Infosys , and Deloitte visit, offering roles in Software and AI. The highest package is Rs. 40 LPA , average is rs. 6-7 LPA with 90% placement rate. After my degree, I plan to pursue a role in AI development.

Fees and Financial Aid

for the first semester tuition fee was Rs. 80000/- and Rs. 20000/- as the security fees then for the rest of the semesters it is Rs. 100000/- per semester To be honest I don't know whether the university provide any fee reduction for other category students I guess it is same across all the categories

Campus Life

Chitkara's campus offers vibrant festivals like Algorhyhtm (Feb) and Exploria (Nov) . The library' has extensive resources, and classrooms are tech-equipped. Sports, clubs , and student-run groups enhance life here,

Admission

I applied to VIT and SRM but chose Chitkara for its placements and practical curriculum . Admissions requires 60% in the 12th and JEE mains scores . Cutoffs are moderate , and the process is smooth and online.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is 1:25. Faculty are approachable , with experts like Dr. Rajeev Sharma excelling in AI. The semester system has 2 midterms and the marking scheme balances theory and practicals.

Night Life

Chitkara's campus is mostly quiet at night. The cafeteria and library close by 10 PM . Hostels have curfews by 11 PM . Popular hangout spots include The Café Coffee Day and McDonald's outside the campus . The area is generally safe.

Chitkara University - Everything You wanna know about

Likes

Syllabus is good, it is very versatile and updated according to the industry standards
The University also has a good events and also a good night life
The infrastructure is very modern with unique outlets to eat in

Dislikes

There is a uniform system which is very bad according to university
Very strict rules regarding in and out of the University
The outlets in university are quite expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

PEC is great choice

Pec has amazing fest named PECFEST it is one of the biggest fest of north india many singers come many Competition are organized by student of pec
college life is amazing here and better than all of nits in near region
placements are very good for these colleg even this year ee branch have better placements in pec than in nit kkr

Dislikes

the main problem is the students of Chandigarh there is huge rank difference they get this college at lower ranks so peer group is not good sometimes
also another problem is the 50 percent students are from chandigarh they up down from there home daily if you are from chd u will not get hostels

Placement Experience:

placements from rti report placement percentage is over 75 + and in ee its 74 percent cse 93 and ece 84 percent avg for cse is 18 lakhs and ece is 16 lakhs ee its 14 lakh and other branches have 8 10 lakh avg but the placemnt percentage in mechncial is 70 percent other branches like civil production have a little less percentage of placements but they have opportunities in college

SVIET: my turning point

Special labs for the Super60 students only
Special faculty offered to the super60 batch
DCA interaction classes every week for placement drills

Dislikes

Too much interference in students personal life
Discrimination in fee stucture, uniques and Super60 and non super60(either in terms of facilities or branding) batch
Too much pressure, harrasment, irrelevent burden, abusive behavior of the management and some of the faculty members. Calls, parents for every small thing to make them worried, this is bad specially for the students living far away from their house..

Placement Experience:

As a Btech student, we get elegible in 7th sem for the placement drives virtuos, bebo, Antire are such companies that visits our campus highest package: 800000 LPA lowest: 1,50000 LPA 90% students get placed I would love to go into corporate life after degree

Life at Panjab University

Likes

Student who are eager for there startup gets better chance
Campus life is best students get chance to interact with different departments students
Students politics is major highlight cause it helps one to understand there voting right and value of one vote

Dislikes

Can be seprate hostel for each departments
There is no such bad thing that I came across then monkeys in University campus near hostels
No shop is open in University after 9 pm

Placement Experience:

In our college students need to have 6CGPA to still in campus placements and our college have a Club that overseas all the placement oppertunityies and the placement starts from 7th semester onwards when students starts there seventy semester the company's starts visiting campus for placement and internship opportunity as well

Likes

Most of the things like stuC(students centre)
One the things I like the most is boys hostel no 8/7
One thing I like the most is the building and structure of gandhi bhavan

The thing I dislike the most is the boys hostel no 6/1
Food of students.centre was also one thing that I dislike tha most
Building of my college that was block 3 that was hated by most students

Yes,very good college placements are available in our college.Students of 8 semester that is 4th year students are eligible for campus placement Companies such as TCS,wipro,amex,gemini solutions and etc many more companies are there for placement 60-80% students got placed in the companies with an average package of 8 lakhs and with a highest package of 35 lakhs Iam oriented towards govt jobs and in future if I will be interested in coding sector I will do preparation for off campus and specifically for Rubrik

Nmims Chandigarh for btech review

Likes

Good facilities, really teaches student and give individual attention in class too
Good infrastructure , as it was just built in 2021, the infrastructure is top notch and no complaints about it.
Papers are being checked anonymously, one’s paper can be checked by any teacher in any campus, so no chance of partiality

Dislikes

80% strict attendance criteria other they would not allow to sit in exam
Passing criteria is 40% and grading system is also bery difficult, two D grade is 1 F and more than 2F could lead to year repeat year, not even semster
Alot of assigments, really hectic at times

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

Chitkara University - Everything You wanna know about

I chose Chitkara Univ over a few other pvt colleges in Punjab and nearby states because of its brand name, campus infra, and decent place stats. I had also applied to CU, LPU and a state engg college. I got confirm seat from CU and LPU, but I chose Chitkara as its tech branch and campus env felt more focused and less crowded. The labs and infra looked better during visit. I did not get into a top govt college as my rank was not strong enough in JEE. My prep was not at that level and cut off was high, so I could not make it there. That was mainly due to low score, not any other issue. The admit process at Chitkara is simple. For BTech, 10+2 with PCM and min 60 percent is needed. JEE score is accepted but not must for all seats. Many students take seat based on 12th marks and then do counseling at campus. There is direct apply on site, doc check, fee pay and seat confirm. Cut off is not very high like govt college. The overall admit exp was smooth and fast, with no major issue....Read More

Honest insider review - Chitkara University, Punjab

There was no such entrance exam sort of thing. they were just expecting a minimum percentage in the boards examination that too was very low to be honest. i didnt found such difficulty for the admission process as i had scored good marks in the 12th board. The application form was available on the official website of the university. The fees has been increased the last time i toook admission. It took 162,000 for 1 yr of college fees. No reservation benifits were availed by me being a GENERAL. Overall, the admission process was easy i found no diificulty. Although, they can improve the communication hrough the intermediater who accepted my form and took me thorugh the admission process. as it was online, i found some difficulty in communicating with themaslso havinng some misunderstandings with them.....Read More
