Course Curriculum Overview

1

I chose CSE as I was interested in computers since I was a child , I thought I would be going to college to learn topics that would actually interest me not make me regret choosing college alltogether but I was wrong. The curriculum provides you no space to learn things on your own , things that are supposed to be taught by them, Little to no consideration is provided to the students who actually want to do something, they basically make model 9 to 5 employees for mass-recruiting companies and get money from us to ruin our lives. There are various methods that can be used to improve these issues. Making attendance an option not a rule: attending classes help us to gain knowledge and information but what is the purpose of the information if it's not relevant to us , making attendance an option grants students the time in which they can actually develope themselves, attending classes that actually benefit them instead of making their lives hellish. Implementing giving credits to students if they do online certifications they should be allowed to add their credits regardless of the type of certification. Improving the faculties and management: it really feel as if you're studying in a school with strict rules which damage the students instead of uplifting them, making it easier for the students and accomodating them should be thier prime concern.

Internships Opportunities

3

Their are various companies offering internships , the most recnt one being samsung, they organised a selection event and then shortlisted the students for internships, the maximum stipend was around 50000.' There are events and projects conducted in the college

Placement Experience

1

Campus placement start in 4th year normally. Companies like accenture and infosys are the top recruiters as they are mass recruitment companies, with other companies picking a student or two here and there. They post fake placements details on their sites which are obviously off campus placements, they also inflate the placement if an alumni gets a higher ctc in his later years working for the same company he was placed in. Almost half of the students get placed and most of them get recruited into mass recruitment firms. A degree is just that I'll be opting for off campus placements after builiding my skillset.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees paid during comedk admission was 280000 but we had to pay an additional 28000 for VTU and skill developement fee. For the next consecutive years we have to pay the same amount. For management quota the fees per year is 750000 . All the courses provided here have the same fees. There are no scholarships provided by the college but you can avail various schpolarships through government schemes. The details for which can be seen the website.

Campus Life

2

The fest happens every two years , the fest name is PANTHEON which is a very mid level fest with not much happening, numerous fests are help from time to time but the scale and the quality is very bad, Pantheon generally happens in may. There are a no. of books available in the library , library is the best place in the whole college but you won't be spending much time there unless you stay in the hostel The classrooms are ill-equipped with only 3 fans for 60 students and uncomfortable seats which makeyour back hurt. Sports and extracurricular activities are very low funded with a basketball court as old as the college and a sandy ground for cricket and football. Various social groups and clubs are there but the functioning of these are very inconsistent, no relaxation is given in attendance even f you are participating in a event

Admission

I applied for several colleges like MIT,VIT,KIT but chose this college as it was in bangalore, I thought the college would actually be good and hearing the same from the seniors made me feel right in choosing thsi college but I was very wrong I got into these colleges but I chose this place over them, a decision that i stilll regret. Admission process can be done through COMEDK, KCET and management quota , KCET is the cheapest with COMEDK being costlier and the management fees being the costliest. Since I got in through COMEDK , they changed the examination scheme this year making it pretty hard.

Faculty

2

Really depends on the type of teachers you get but in my experience it's really a hit or miss , some faculties are super chill and approachable while other can make your life a living hell if you be an inconvenience to them in any way Attendance is a big deal now that the college has gone autonomous , if you are below 85% they bully you endlessly for no reason even if their faculties are so trash you wont have the willingness to attend a single class. Internals are taken thrice per semester and then they are reduced down to 20 they are pretty easy to score if you study beforehand, most of the questions come from the module itself, As I mentioned earlier the curriculum is very poor in content with out of touch concepts and teaching methods which have little to no value in today's job market, you basically have to grind on your own while dealing with their consistent harrasment.

Night Life

3

The college has a small gym for the students to use for a fee, as mentioned earlier library and the garden are the only good places in the college. The hostel has a 10 pm curfew timing with the classes starting at 8:40 and continuing till 4:30 depending upon the day Famous places to hangou can be the garden in the middle of the college , the food court which serves okay food but the filter coffee and the chola bhaturas are to very good , the library is a good place to study and chill with free library wifi, the snack corner behind jain corner is also very good the bhel puri is a must try.

Excellent placement training and reputed companies visit the campus. I had received offers from three companies which reflects the quality of opportunities available. Placement is one of the college's biggest strength. Student with no backlog and good academic records will get easily placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The aspects like: we had 2 internal exams in the semester and after completing these internal exams roughly at the 5th month we had practical exam + end semester exams, these exams would be mainly theory based inclusing some conceptual based questions & based on our understanding only, we can able to write the answers. One thing, I would suggest was we shall give more weightage to the practical based learning, that too during our days we were just the beginning of AI & Iot era was effectively going on, if we had some advanced eductaion covering these aspects we would have got the opportunity to shine more in our carrers. As a student, we faced slight diffuclities and challenges matching the real-life happenings with the acdemics, that would be one of the shortcoming I can say.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the curriculum is well planned, balanced and easy to follow. We start with the basics and along with theory there's a good amount of coding practice, assignments, and hands on learning. I like that the course isn't just about passing exams, it also focuses on building skills that will be useful later for internships and placements. So far it feels relevant, practical and not overwhelming for someone who's just starting out.
