Likes

The most good things about the college is his placement. This college belong from techno group. thats the main reason of placement ratio .The average placement is approx 90%.
The best thing about this college is competitive coding environment. and good senior junior culture.
there are lots of opportunity for sports athlete. like cricket football.

Dislikes

there are no hostel facility in this college
there are no big ground in this college . so you cant play long boundry cricket.
there are only 3 acres campus so you cant live campus life

Course Curriculum Overview

The scope in information technology branch field is very good as compare to other branch. The curriculum of this branch teaches about AI ML coding skill which is applicable for real world things. The improvements are needed in field of theory syllabus.this not even change from last 20 years.so according to time it will revised. There are one semester exam held in every 5 months.and difficulties level is medium

Placement Experience

from 7th semester students are eligible for placement. tcs ,cognizant ,accenture , nutenix and so many around 1-2 offer are made for one student highest package is around 40lpa and average pakage around 6.5 lpa.this package is offred for software engineer. approx 90% students are placed. I want to prepare for CSE.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of nsec is 120000 per year. and there is tfw cota for west bengal domicile student.the fee of tdfw cota hai 12000 per year. and there are so many scholarship which is given to west bengal domicile student.and student credit card facility is available for all state styudent in NBA verified branch

Campus Life

mesmerizer is a annual fest which is held in jan. and phonix ia technical fest which is held in june. We have biggest library of kolkata. so rang of books is lie in lakhs. digital classroom with fully AC . there are so many sports fest is organised by college like infinito ,zest. and unofficial cricket tournament is organised by seniors. like Aman maurya bhaiya and his group. Eco culture , Rotract club nsec sports portal . the rotract club is basis on the environment clean .

Admission

I had applied in HITK,IEM,BP PODDAR.I got IT in bp poddar and also nsec.i choose nsec over bp poddar due to placement. yes i got rejection from hitk due to low rank in wbjee. the admission will taken on the basis os wbjee rank through counselling.the cutoff of IT branch is 18k in wbjee.

Faculty

There are 1 proffesor over 25 students. the relationship of college and teacher is so friendly. piyus karmakar is the faculty of software engineering department.He is very good person on the duty or off the duty. all faculty of IT department is very good and helpfull. there are 2 main semester exam held in one year. and 4 internal exam held in one semester exam.the main semester exam is conduct by MAKAUT. the difficulty of exam is medium.the backlog ratio is 20:100.

Night Life

our college have a small gym behind the nsec ground.and a pretty cafeterias and biggest library which is close on 7 pm. our college have no hostel facility.campus is close on 7pm. college garden area and cafeterias is best place for hangout inside the college . matka garam is best palce outside the college for hangout.

Likes

The IIT brand value.Great placements and internship opportunities
Competitive peers and lots of ongoing.Great environment
Lush green campus, lots to explore and great infrastructure

Dislikes

Rigorous academics, hectic exam schedules
Hostel infrastructure is quite old and mess food quality is just acceptable.
Professors teaching style can be quite boring as well

Placement Experience:

Placement statistics of IIT Kharagpur is excellent with multiple offers made across software, quant, consulting , analytics and core domain.Major companies like Google, Microsoft, Optiver, Visa,Mastercard visit the campus each year for recruitment.Highest packages are offered by quant companies and can go upto 2 - 2.5 crore per annum

Good Internship Opportunities

Likes

Helpful Faculties, the faculties over here helped us through out the course
Good clean and green campus with water supply at different places in the campus
Structured syllabus for industrial readiness in the curriculum

Dislikes

Nothing such I have disliked, but some classrooms projector did not functioned properly
Some time the guards unnecessarily behaved rude which I hated the most

Placement Experience:

The placement cell provides us with training programs and internships and also if the students are careful and disciplined in the classroms they can crack through job interviews. There is mock viva at the end semester and also some on campus hiring companies came in our college.

mostly from end of third year students start getting campus placements and companies like TCS AND WIPRO HIRE MAJORITY of the students. The average package is 450000 and highest package every year goes upto 9-12 lakhs per annum. I want to go into core Electronics domain for which I am preparing for masters as no core electronics companies come in this college

GOOD College at low fees.

Likes

The campus is very big of the college which is about 50 acres and very greenly campus
The events and clubs with sports held in campus is very good and very happening
The placement opportunities in this college is very good and the faculties are very supportive

Dislikes

The infrastructure is bit old and renovates it bit very late which impact in bit difficulty
The senior are very supportive but at the same time they are very strict regarding the discipline which they call it ragging
The location of the college is bit outside of the main city so you can find it bit difficulty in your starting days of living here

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

Likes

The infrastructure of the college is good.I would consider the college as very clean.
The campus life is pretty good but there are strict instructions to freshers to not roam in the campus.

Dislikes

I disliked the condition of the bathroom and the corridor on the first day.
My hostel room was very filthy.The workers charges ₹100 for cleaning it

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students become eligible for placements.Google, Microsoft,Gold Man Sacks, Apple were some of the companies that visited NIT Durgapur For placement regard.The highest package was 80lpa and the average package was 13 lpa.Total of 83% students got placed.The placement is quite good.

lab circumtances are lightly good.we can share our opinion their.
use of projector is very helpful for us .
faculties behaviour is good ,they are quite helpful toward us.

Dislikes

small area campus is that what I do not like
canteen facilities are not good enough .
small space library are not enough for all students

after 6th sem those students who scored above 7 CGPA are eligible for campus placements. name of companies- TCS,Campgemini,Accenture,Delloite etc. average package -320000 70 percent most of students got placed. I want to job at IT sector after getting the degree.

Fair college according to me

Likes

The college management is really up to the mark. I am from the computer science and engineering department.
Good placements according to the amount you pay.
Good environment for coding and development.

Dislikes

There are a lot of extra clubs which are not so functional.
Hostels are good but not up to the mark .
The play ground is available but not inside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Our college provide really good placements if the student is really eligible for employment. There are adequate no. Of companies visiting the campus. Some big companies are - MICROSOFT, LAB VANTAGE, DELTAX, RTCAMP, DELOITTE, ACCENTURE, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS, IBM, MUSIGMA, TIGER ANALYTICS, KEY SIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, KEYENCE, MANIKARAN POWER, TCS, E&Y etc. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the avarage is around 5 - 6 lpa. Placements are better for cse, it and ece. The core branches have mediocre placements.

The library system is good. With many authors and writers available.
The faculty is helpful and coperative.The faculty helps the students in their studies and day to day problems faced in the college.
The classrooms are enough big to accommodate the strength chosen by the faculty.

Dislikes

The labs are not very well equipped. The monitors and PC are back dated versions.
The washrooms are not very well maintained and they stink.
The faculties are not very helpful in the project work and personal academic life of the students.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students are allowed to sit for placement. Tcs, wipro, Capgemini are the mass recruiters of our college. Other companies visit as well Deloitte, accenture and many more. The average package being is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest being around 10 lakhs per annum.

The college campus is very big and beautiful.
The cultural fests and annual fest is also great.
The ganga ghat is really close from the college.

Dislikes

The faculty is bullshit .some profs are ok,but some are horrible.
The college hostels accommodation is really bad
The ratio of girls to boys is very poor.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is okay and companies like google, Microsoft, Capgemini ,Tata,Mahindra also comes during placement.The off campus placement record is also fantastic.The were scenarios in the past years where few students got packages like 50-70 lpa.

Likes

You can focus on gate, or any other job teachers are helpful no issue of attendance.
easily pass as syllabus is not hard,and get a B.tech degree.

Dislikes

poor infracture, lack of resources such as sports facility.
Less qualified teachers with no PHDs, and familiar with basic knowledge.
No placements, whatever you can do is off campus only

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is perceived as average , lacking specific elements that might make it stand out. In my case, the motivation was not to waste a year by opting for a drop. The flexibility in attendance which let me focus on other interests. The curriculum is same as MAKAUT, and the exam frequency is also controlled by MAKAUT .Areas of improvement is infrastructure and better faculty.

Things you should know before taking admission in NSEC

Others college which i got confirmed is RIT /quantum and haridwar university but i didn't go there because it was very far from my hometown and placement wasn't that much good as compared to my current college. I have given the west bengal joint entrance exam(wbjee) and through it the nsec college was allotted to me through counselling process. When the result declared, you have to apply for counselling and put your choice of colleges with rank. Every round you will be allotted college according to your result rank. Passing out in 2025, have seen a old place in 2021, to a new college in 2025, rennovated

I had a senior in my locality, 2019 passout, following whom I joined NSEC. I still admire and thank him for guiding me while joining NSEC. While admission I didint face any kind of interview. I had got a rank in WBJEE, and during the first counselling round, I selected NSEC, got NSEC, and finalized it by paying the first semester fees. I wasnt rejected by any college, as I went ahead with my first option. The counselling round at college isnt anything special, just a question whether or not we would be able to bear the college fees, as all comes down to money.
