Course Curriculum Overview

4

I wanted to learn the core subject of electrical engineering for getting government jobs in the sector of electrical engineering that led me to choose this course . The curriculum here is quite updated and good which makes the student get in track with the modern running world and real life applications of the concepts taught , improvements need to be made in the visualisation of concepts and equipments in lab are too old to use , as of 1st year we have minors instead of mid sems which are very bad and we have very much exams every week and non-stop studying without any break , the difficult of the paper depends on the faculty , some set very difficult paper and some modern doable one.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship opportunities are available after our 3rd year based upon our skills and academic performance and the minimum criteria of the company which approached the college for internship , the students get good stipend here in internship period during the vacation. As I'm from 1st year in don't have much knowledge and experience about internships , but will definitely try for my best to achieve and learn new things.

Placement Experience

4

Our college offers very good and best campus placements , we get top companies in the college and high packages among other NITs We have higher placement Percentage than many IITs as well of nearly 100% placed , the medi package is very good and all the branches get good opportunities in the future.

Fees and Financial Aid

I will be paying nearly 1 lakh rupees per year I don't have tution fees as I'm from SC category All the remaining fees I should pay like caution fees , registration fees , development fees , lab fees and the other compulsory charges during the course. The categories other than SC/ST/PWD and (less than 1 lakh family income )should pay 2 lakhs rupees per year approximately and EWS candidates with less that 1 lakh family income has full tution fees waiver and all other guys who have less than 5 lakhs has (two third-?) fee remmision and they should pay only ? of the tution fee and all other fees remain common for everyone and others with family income above 5 lakhs should pay full tution fees and also all the other compulsory fees. Scholarships are available to all the categories on the basis of merit cum need like Top class education for SC students Top class education for ST students Scholarships for PWD candidates PM Yojana scholarship for General/EWS/OBC.

Campus Life

4

We have TECHNOZION and SPRING SPREE fests here in college among which technozion is a technical fest and spring spree is a regular college fest both held once in a year. The range of books available here in college is very very large , we find almost every book here and there is a wide range of options as well and we also have digital library with good networks facility. Technological provisions in classrooms like smart board and projects help in the presentation of ppts and notes by the faculty. Sports facility is also available for each and every sport here with a good stadium and courts for every sport and also we have inter NIT events. We have many clubs in every aspect ,student-run social groups which have impact on the society and well being of the people .

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel facility is not good here as we don't have neat rooms and bathrooms here are worst with no proper facilities and dirty condition, mess food is not at all good and tasty and also unhygienic as well with no proper precautions taken . Registration process is available in the smile ERP portal of the college for hostel and mess fees. I live in 1.8k ultra mega hostel in the NIT-W campus

Admission

Except the top 5 NITs I got CSE in all the remaining NITs and lower branches in new IITs but I choose core branch in top NIT instead because top college gives more opportunities and has a strong established network and gets good placement opportunities as well, I got rejected by top 7 IITs due to my lower rank in JEE advanced examination, I didn't prepared for JEE advanced in specific from the starting I prepared only in the last one month for it that's because I got rejected , while I prepared for JEE mains examination from the starting till 2 years so I cracked it successfully and got admission in top NIT of the nation with core branch of electrical engineering, the admission process is difficult Eligibility criteria is that you should pass 12th class with a minimum of 75% in physics, chemistry and maths . You should clear the cutoff of your category and should get a required rank to get seat in the college as per the competition.

Faculty

4

We have 1 faculty for 70 members in a class , the faculty to student relationship is good and the faculty are well approachable Tapan Kumar Sahoo , Kaladhar sir are my most like teachers so far in the college Amitava Bandhu is the faculty whom I don't like at all infact everyone in class hates him as he don't teach well and don't give marks for correct answers in exam , he only expects the exact lines of ppts which he shared but not a simplified version of them

Night Life

3

We have very good night life in the campus , hangout spots like time square and mme, biotech lawn and food Street also after classes we can study in Library and also spend time with friends in campus and also play sports and participate in our prioritised activities, we have gym present in hostels here which we can use for our fitness purposes. Hostel has timings till 12:00 pm night for in and out , where as we cannot leave campus after 10 pm but can enter after that time of we are coming from home or returning after leaving before 10pm.

Other Applied Colleges

IIT Hyderabad - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITH] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)

Electrical engineering branch is higher that mechanical and NIT-W is top NIT and IIT-H is not in top 7 IITs

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
