Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is very diverse and comprehensive at the same time. The lab practicals are also very helpful. Conducting worksheets and case studies help us with being thorough with the content we learnt.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise tution fees that I pay is 1.5 lacs, this includes all the lab charges and academic expenses in the University. For events one needs to pay as per the college decides. There are no other extra fees that you need to pay. There is a scholarship scheme. The scholarship will be granted every semester based on your CGPA and SGPA. The minimum CGPA required is 7.75 to get the basic Scholarship. The other 2 scholarships - MRD and CNR - MRD waivers 40% of the tuition fee for the top 5% students based on their CGPA while CNR waivers 40% of the tuition fee based on the SGPA for top 20% students There's no fees difference among different categories. Everyone is required to pay the same amount.

Campus Life

3

Being an introvert, i don't have much of a social life. However the crowd coming to the college is friendly and one can adjust here comfortably. There are many clubs in the college - dance, music, literature. There are audition rounds to get in to these clubs, but they are convenient

Admission

The admission process involves sitting through an interview. I had applied to in Christ and I got an admission in the NCR branch, which is not convenient for me. Hence, why I chose this college. Pes university doesn't differentiate on basis of any religious background.

Faculty

3

The faculty is a bit new to the college, however most of them are friendly and well aware of their Subject. The exams are well planned. There are 3 exams in total. 2 ISAs and 1 ESA at the end. There are worksheets, case reports and case studies that are conducted simultaneously throughout the semester. There's no failing system. However, if you fail to reach the desired mark then you will have a backlog and you need to write the exam again.

Interview Experience

4

There was an online interview that i had to appear for. They had asked me some questions and that was it. I was focused on answering these questions confidently and to limit them only till what I knew.

Night Life

2

There is a gym which is operational till 7.00 p.m. The hostel timings are till 7.00 p.m. You can hangout in the canteens and library. There's also a gully called the the sutta gali where there is a variety of food you can try.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
