Entrance Preview

Apart from HSC exams, qualifying for the entrance exam is also a must for admission in various engineering institutes.I had given MHT-CET entrance exam which is conducted by DTE, Maharashtra, scoring 96/200 marks which paved me a way to enter Thakur college of engineering and technology. It is one of the best institute of Mumbai having excellent infrastructure and teaching facilities with excellent record of placements over the years.Apart from this, proximity is also another factor which led me to finalize my admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The course curriculum set by Mumbai University is pathetic specially for the departement of electronics and Telecommunications. It is really sad to say that engineering is all about theory and paper work rather than actual engineering. TCET comprises of mixed nature of faculties, it is indeed a great thing to bear few of them.

Internships Opportunities

We do not have any internship facilities here. But our college is planning this facility to make a way easy for students and helping them for the bright future.

Placement Experience

2

Placements over the years have been excellent(nearly 95-95%).Companies that do visit on regular basis are Infosys, I-gate, TCS, Accenture, mu sigma, L&T infotech, Oracle, Work Applications(Japan) and many more.

College Events

2

We have one technical fest named 'Zephyr' which is organized in the month of September (odd sem). There are many awesome events being organized in zephyr like LAN gaming, coding, technical paper presentation, Technical debate, robotics, sports events and many more.Besides, we have a cultural fest named 'Sojourn' celebrated during end of February (even sem). Sojourn consists of dance activities, skits, sports, traditional activities.Apart of this TCET conducts two days workshop named 'Multicorn-W' in March for the developinh technical skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is expensive as compared to other colleges. But looking at infrastructure, it reminds that paying high fees is somewhat worth.Rs. 1, 20, 000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college offers a full time scholarship to those students who scores a good CGPA of 9 and above. Also there are financial loans available for the students with less family income.

Campus Life

2

Overall it is a good experience in enjoying campus life as said by me in above columns. On regular basis there are various activities talking place on the campus.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel life is pretty different. PG and UG hostels are different buildings. Both are situated at 5 mins walking distance from college campus. Canteen food is moderate expensive and worth eating when you are really tired eating home food.

Alumni/Alumna

Our seniors are the most helpful amongst all. They play a major role in guiding juniors from scratch. We have notable Alumni where seniors are placed in reputed firms. Some have even setup their own startups.

Exam Structure

It depends on the number of subjects and syllabus per semester that how your schedule is gonna be hectic.Students are stressed during midterm exams and somewhat relaxed during final exams.

Faculty

1

Some of the faculty are really helpful and motivating the students keeping on the right track.

Focusing on student's attendence rather than focusing on students concepts. College is not focusing in development of students only paperwork is done. No conceptul teaching nor practical. By doing this stuff we can get a btech degree but not the knowledge a btech student should have.
