Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is all fit for you to become a professional only when you are interested in it. If you want to step into the field and explore your talent- they teach you camera handling, radio scripts, corporate communication knowledge, health communication, human rights, journalism, movie making, advertising, etc. And not just the practical aspect but this course at AMU offers you academic aspect too. They offer good research work in this course where students can further apply for Ph.D. in their desired field.

Placement Experience

0.5

no internship and placement from the college side. no, I haven't availed any internship during my college time.

College Events

4.5

No events as such are celebrated at the department but the university celebrates many events throughout the year at Kennedy auditorium. the list is too long and events to change year by year including AMU drama club, concerts, movie projection, alumni meet, convocation, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

the course is covered within rs.20,000 (maximum). not more than this. first-year fees are almost around 8,500rs. Which reduces to 6,000 (approx) in the second year. this amount is not too much for a mass communication student acquiring a degree from a central university.

Fees and Financial Aid

I opted for a scholarship. I was selected among the top 5 students in the class, by the teaching faculty on the basis of the performance in the class. I was awarded 20,000 rs per year, which totaled to 40,000 in two years.

Campus Life

4.5

the gender ratio was almost equal. we were a total of 30 students in class in which around 14 were female students. The extracurricular activities were in the form of assignments that were assigned to us. they were 9/10 on the learning basis. teachers too are indulged in extra activities taking place in the department and help out students to be a part of the same.

Admission

I got admission to The Department of Mass Communication at Aligarh Muslim University through an entrance test. Every year Aligarh Muslim University publishes its guide to admission in the month of February for the students seeking admission to the University. This guide contains every important detail such as- courses offered, fees of the course, fees of the entrance exam, mode of the entrance exam, entrance exam date, etc. The process of admission starts with:- Students filling the online form and submitting the fees at the same time. The entrance exam contains only current affairs which are divided into two categories- Subjective(60%) and Objective(40%) type. The test is conducted in the month of may and results are uploaded by the end of June on the website. Uploaded list contains the final list of students (who are selected for admission) and a chance memo list or waiting list (who all can apply for the admission if seats are vacant). My waiting was 12th on the list. I got my admission to the course on the 8th of August, 2017. The admission process in the university is long and tiring. The process starts right from the morning and ends up at 5 in the evening ( Exactly when banks get closed). The process enrolls a student to the course, submission of important documents for the authentication of student’s educational background, submission of fees, allotment of students faculty number, etc.

Faculty

they are lenient and friendly. always ready to help you out if you need any sort of help. both, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the faculty are helping and friendly. they help students to organize and explore in different fields with their experience and knowledge.

Placement Experience:

The placement here at Sharda was too good. Students start attending the Placement interviews and calls from the last semester. I was personally made into 4 companies and 4 offer letters were offered to me. The average package is 3.8 lakhs per annum and highest was about 11 lakhs. There is 100% placement in every dept. but it depends on students if they want to attend or not. After getting the degree i studied for my PhD entrace and now i am working.

Remarks:

My college provide best education and hostel facility in india.Security is very good. Managment is very good.Transport facility inside the campus in now very good. Placements : The institute actually has very good placement records due to its outstanding alumni and also due to the presence of placement and training cell working day and night to indulge its students with skills and leadership. So, the placements in our college have never been a problem. Infrastructure : With almost hundred years on the calendar, our campus is luxurious from inside and filled with modern day necessities from inside. We have every resource that a student wants in his college life such as largely spaced room, Wi-Fi everywhere around the campus and many more things. So, the campus is unmatched. Faculty : The faculty members are nice, and I found them very helping and motivating. On the other hand, the course curriculum is a bit boring but essential too. A load of academics is very less compared to other IITs and hence students can do anything they want and could carry on their interest. I feel very proud to be a part of IIT BHU. Other : There are three main fests in our college, Kashiyatra, Technex and Spardha. All the fests are held at very high level. Participation from many IITs, NITs and other different colleges from many parts of India make our fests super big and exciting.
