My college review

The college is really good in academics, but it lacks infrastructure. There is no proper cafeteria or a good playground. The college mess is really good and affordable. I would rate the college low in infrastructure and social life, but it makes up for it in academics performances.

The Course Curriculum is a bit old, but efforts are being made to change the syllabus and keep it updated according to the requirements of the industry. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester. We have Practicals first, and then the Theory papers. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. You're given an ONE sheet to fill in your detils. Write your answers on it and submit the paper. Finally,the results are out usually in a month or so.

Placements and job opprtunities are good for most of the branches. The college boasts of almost a 90% placement rate out of all the eligible students. Although the college does not provide internship, but it does encourage students to complete at least three internships before the final year.

The events celebrated in college are the Annual fest 'Utsaha',Holi, Karnataka Rajotsav day,Independence Day, Republic Day. The most important event in college is the Annual fest named UTSAHA. It's an inter college fest and invites are sent to all the reputed colleges of the city. Students from different colleges participate in the fest. It is celebrated with lots of excitement and zeal by the sudents.

I believe the fee structure is feasible. There are 3 quotas for admission, 2 of them are on merit.CET for students of Karnataka, Comedk for students from the rest of the country and Management for students seeking admission without merit. The CET fee structure is very cheap and is around ?70000 per year. The fee structure for Comedk students is a bit higher, but still feasible. It is around ?190000. Then comes the Management fees which is the highest at around ?400000 on an average for all the branches.

There is a 100% scholarship scheme for students from low income families. Also,Allahabad bank inside the campus provides students loans for those who wish to avail it. The education loan rates are also quite affordable, I believe.

There are 2 labs included in the curriculum every semester for students of all the branches. The labs are well equipped and there is a sports room also in the college. Students can play carrom, table tennis. There is a cricket amd football ground and a basketball court as well. The college takes part in various other sports also organized by the University.

The alumni network is new and still needs work. The seniors though are quite helpful within and outside the college as well. You can freely approach them with anything. I have never had a bad experience while interacting with any of the seniors.

I got admission through Comedk quota in the third round of counselling. The admission process is fairly simple. You need to visit the college with the admission letter. The office staff asks for your details and verifies the relevant documents. If satisfied, you are provided with a bank chalaan. You then need to visit the bank, which is inside the campus itself and pay the fees. After the fees is paid succesfully, you'll be provided with your college ID and Voila! You're now a student of this college.

The faculty in my college is really good for all the departments. They are cooperative and always keep the welfare of the students in mind. Many of them are highly qualified and have PhD degrees. The quality of teaching overall is exceptional.
