- MBA program here is not given enough footage as the engineering program and it's a major drawback.
Course Curriculum Overview
There is nothing that our course doesn't have. We of course have some of the best case studies, best assignments provided and best content to learn and Implement. Best internships are also provided and last but not the least it's best timings of examinations as one don't have to be one song always with studies.
Placement Experience
From P&G to Tata steel, we have like 40+ companies just to hire MBA students. Students from NIT Rourkela have managed to get package of 30 lakhs and so. However, average comes down significantly as placements still are not 100%.
Fees and Financial Aid
NIT Rourkela many mit think that because its NIT, it will not have a steep MBA program but it's not true as MBA here is as good as any other courses. The fees for the same is 6.2 lakhs for the entire course and it includes everything that is covered under our course.
Campus Life
Campus js huge like very very huge and has like all the latest amenities. Our buildings are equipped and management department have their own building with labs and library. There's a central library as well and has all sports grounds and Indor sports that are played in India. Rourkela Ursav is our annual fest and is due in April this year.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are inside campus area and there are 12 boys hostels at the campus. Two seaters are common here and fees for that is 50k a year and in that we get three meals and some fest too on festivals. So, all in all college hostels are good if not great.
Admission
Well, just like other colleges NITs too have an entrance examinations and CAT percentile to get admission in IIMs was not enough. Then I had a look at some of the private colleges for MBA and their fees was 14-20 lakhs a year. The fees was beyond affordability for me. So on all the parameters that I looked upon like placements and hostels facilities, I felt NIT Rourkela to be the best choice and hence i didn't think for a second after I was confirmed admission here.
Faculty
Our faculties are like top quality and they have always made our classes eventful. Their teaching methods and exercises that they give always are more meaningful. Our faculties contribution in changing the face of management studies in a college which is renowned for engineering is immense.
Interview Experience
GD round is mandatory as students are listed through that and finally the interview happens. In interviews we are asked basic questions like why have you chosen MBA or how will you contribute. Tell your biggest strength and weakness and something like that are asked.
Night Life
The town Rourkela is well connected with railways and bus and both railway station and bus stand aren't that far. We also have various temples close to college and they are Ved Vyas Temple and Vaishno Devi Temple. Restaurant gallore and some of the best are The Park and Huddang Club Kitchen.
