Remarks

A Very good Engineering University of Odisha comming on top rank after NIT Rourkela situated in Burla , Sambalpur district. It has 11 branches of B.Tech. Here except B.Tech msc , mphil , M.Tech , MCA , and Phd students are studying here. Very experienced and high qualified Professors are present here. Very good practical training and lab facility with 24hour LAN facility. One central library. 6 Boys hostel and 5 girls hostel are here. Overall VSSUT is great.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is really all basic requirements. There is a provision of software learning. It lacks in modern software knowledge for students necessary for industrial studies and uses. Mine is a new branch and there is a lot of scope for improvement.

Internships Opportunities

No, not to my knowledge and also no stipend.

Placement Experience

3

Placement opportunities are above average. Tata steel, tata sponge infosys, accencture, tcs, maruti suzuki, hindalco aditya birla, vedanta, wipro delloite, larsen and turbo, pradan, bhushan and Samsung theme visited the campus tjis year.

College Events

3.5

There are four main events, the cultural festival (VaSSaUnT ), technical festival (Samavesh), sports festival (illumina) and the global alumni meet. Other events that are held in the college are individual branch festivals and ted talks are the new great thing here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible for most students but there are some exceptions. Many Scholarships by government can be helpful for many students with Below Poverty Line income. The total cost for four years will be around 5lakhs

Fees and Financial Aid

Students of this University can accept financial assistance from all recognized sources so long as the conditions imposed by the donors for continued acceptance of such aids are not violated. The following scholarship and awards are offered by various agencies through the University. Ex medhabruti, tata steel, disabled jindal and bhushan etc

Campus Life

2.5

industrial training programmes and placement of all the registered students of the University. NCC/Physical training/NSS/Yoga programmes. Liaison with parents/guardians of students with respect to their performance and conduct on a regular basis.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel infrastructure is abysmal. In the boys hostel, many of us have to stay in groups of four in a tiny room. During rainy season the roofs do leak in the boys hostel. There are four boys hostel and are 60 years old and they can explain tjis bad shape. Other hostels are also in the same state.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni of this institute are a blessing to the institute and they try to help the students in many different ways. They sponsor many events and projects in which the students are involved. Their contacts everywhere are a boon to the students.

Exam Structure

There are two semesters a year for engineering students. The course is four years long. Each semester has a mid semester examination followed by end semester examination at the end of the semester. There are lab examinations, vivas, practicals, assignments and attendance based marks.

Admission

I appeared for joint entrance examination mains. Then i had to apply for odisha joint engineering examination which looks over the government study institutes in the state. And based on the rank i got my college and chemical engineering branch.

Faculty

3

The faculty is very hard working. Most of them hail from good background and colleges. Faculties are professional in there approach and do not refrain from re-explaning the stuff the teach. They are well versed in both study work and practical work.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.
