Dislikes

Too many fests in the college like ole hope
Genz kids ruining the college life by dominating
Cafeteria is always filled with people but maybe thats a plus point as well

Course Curriculum Overview

My course was Bachelor of Arts and my specialisation was History so basically everything related to history was covered in my college as it was affiliated to Mumbai University. The exams were a bit tough has we had to complete a 100 marks paper and the passing was 40 marks.

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 5000 per year

Placement Experience

During the final year and after the 5 semesters and the end of 6 semesters the placement cells visit the college. Basically everyone from every field can apply for placements. Companies like wipro, oswal,amazon visit our college.

Fees and Financial Aid

So Basically I took admission in Wilson College in 2020 for the course of Bachelor of Arts. Looking at the fees annually it was 5000 something but i was in SC category so I only had to pay 700 something. Overall the college is good and has alot of events basically. College is right opposite of Girgaon Chowpatty.

Campus Life

So in our college there are many famous social events like Ole and Hope and the students participate in it. There are mnay clus in college run by the students. Looking at the events in Wilson College, i would rate my college 5/5.

Hostel Facilities

I used to stay in girls hostel named as Pandita Ramabai Hostel which is 10 minutes walk to Wilson College. They provide mess facility in the hostel too. It was fun to stay in the hostel. The warden was also friendly but the timings are strict

Admission

So basically during my admission in First year there was corona and I apllied to only 3 colleges in Mumbai and got selected in Wilson College. During my time, the cutoff was a little less so that was a plus point for me. You can take admission through the portal of wilson college.

Faculty

So basically the College Faculty is good, especially the History faculty is very friendly and supportive like parents. Looking at the examination pattern i had old course so We had papers of about 100 marks each semester which was a tough job. Now the system has changed

Night Life

My college is cafeteria, gymkhana an ancient library with thousands of books. There is seperate hostel for girls and boys near to the college. There are many hangout spots like girgaon chowpatty, cafe new york, marine drive, hanging garden nearby the college

I like that my colleg is better in management which is good for every student of the college in the sence
Some times management also fails for doing some things which are not big things because there are some technical issues
College hepls every student in the issues sometime it takes time but the solve tue problems of every students

Dislikes

I dislike that some times college staf is just listining not doing any thing
They should help every student with the responsible things for
That why students dislike some things in the college management

There are companies which comes through the college and help out the students with their placements from the companies it has every singel test how students perform in their task and skills that how the placement is described

SPC from a TYBA students POV

Likes

Kalamandal (like theatre club), it’s a different world and it’s magical.
December to March is the college fests time and it’s super lively and fun
Psychology, Sociology & Philosophy departments have amazing professors. They’re smart, helpful and actually care for their students

Dislikes

Except for Psyc, Socio& Philo other departments are awful specially the English department. The HOD herself speaks horrible English and doesn’t even know any books of jane Austin besides pride and prejudice.
The toilets are horrible and never clean and are barely open even. The canteens are also okayish at most.
The management and accounts department are horribly slow

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's good, it's fun and I enjoy it. It changes every sem and that's why we also get to explore more of the subjects. It also depends on the professor tho. First year is to chose 6 different subjects and explore. Then second year you get to choose one major and two minors. Major are then divided into 3 parts, the 2 minor subject are elaborated and one compulsory subject which is English, this continues for third year. There are 2-3 additional subjects that change every sem too like PE, EVS, etc.

Remarks:

For a person who into music production this is the best course and College but any other music field consider other options. The administration is too poor and are harsh on the students but the teaching faculty is supportive.

For getting admission, I visited the college and fill the form received from the admission counter which is generally released in the first or second week of the June and submitted the form after filling in and signing it duly and submitted it to the same counter(which can also be submitted till the third week of the June) and so I got admission.

The college management has appointed a student council who look after all the needs of the students and is responsible and accountable to manage and follow up different activities, events and functions throughout the year. They are the main link between all the societies working in the college and team members of these societies.

Entrance Preview:

NO need of any entrance test to go for this course .Bachelors of arts . This college is known with good teaching faculty for arts. All it had a good ambiance, parking facility and good crowd from different parts of pune and all over maharashtra.i will recommend this college to every new student.

Wilson College: An Honest Review

- I had confirmed admission from St. Xavier's and Sophia's. I applied to Xavier's and Sophia's because of how renowned they were for their course and extra curricular activities - I did not go to Xavier's as I didn't get my preferred subjects. I didn't opt for Sophia's because I thought Wilson would be better. however, I came to regret my decision soon after. - the admission is pretty simple for undergraduate courses. They consider your 12th grade marks and seats are alloted based on merit. There is also a Christian quota with a relatively lower cutoff than general. The gernal cutoff in Wilson is usually 90-95% for the first merit list. Whereas the first merit list cutoff for Christian quota is 80-85%....Read More

Wilson - A place to be at

The admission is done on the basis of marks secured in Class 12th. You need to have a minimum of 60% in 12th grade (The eligibility criteria differs from stream to stream i.e., Commerce, Science, and Arts). The dates for admission forms and the process is updated on their college website. You have to pre-register with Mumbai University.
