Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course is Btech - Information Technology, i took this course as i was interested in learning about emerging technologies. Our campus satisfied me with their teaching and training. We also have additional seminars and workshops conducted from time to time to explore deep into our course.

Placement Experience

4

As for placements, the students are eligible from the beginning of third year (5th semester). Our college have tied hands wuth some good companies like TCS, UST, CTS, Infosys, Zoho, Wipro and many more. The average package is 6LPA and the highest is 30LPA. 90% of the students gets placed in our college each year. I'm confident that before getting my degree I'll get placed so after getting my degree I'll jiust continue to work for a year and after that i have many other plans which isn't related any of the IT department or software.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees i pay is 1,20,000. It includes tuition, caution, registration, admission, development, lab and other compulasory charges. For management students we had to pay donation while joining, which differs for each department. And for students who completed their schooling in government school, had a reduction in their fee. They only had to pay 20,000. For hostel accomodation, the yearly pay is 85,000. And for college transport facility, depending on the distance they come from it differs.

Campus Life

4

Our college conducts many events and the most big fest of our campus is VARNAM. The pride of our college is RIVALS, a national level event by the department of Mechanical engineeing. We have flashmobs for all these events. In our library, the availability of books regarding engineering and our courses. We have physical education department who controls both sports events and training students on regular basis for sports events and they also manage gym in our college. There are plenty of clubs in our college, and the only active clubs are Rotaract club, Kindle club and Media club.

Admission

I didn't apply for any other colleges as my high school cutoff was not high enough, but i had 81% result. I chose this college as my cousin was studying in the same university as mine, but different campus. I preferred Karpagam Institute of Technology, as it was the smallest among all the other campus of our university. I preferred a small campus as I am always comfortable with less crowdy environment. The process of admission was to go to the university and we'll be lead to a follow specific process that differs for students with different cutoffs in high school.

Faculty

4

During my days in first year, we were in Science & Humanitites department as we were first year students. The faculty were a bit strict at the beginning, as the time passed by they became friendly. And i should be very honest about this, when it comes to teaching and training us, we have the best faculties. We write two internal examinations before each semester. We write exams for 100 marks, both internals and semester. In each semeser we had both integrated and core subjects. If we fail in integrated subject, it is considered as fail in both the paper and laboratory paper.

Night Life

3

Gym can be used at anytime other than the college timing which is really convenient for the students in a critical schedule. There is a foodcourt, where we chit chat and chill with our friends, senior and juniors. Hostel has an in timing which is 7 pm. There are two stores in which one is kind of like a grocery store for students in hostel and the other one is a stationary store. It is completely safe to roam around inside thecampus at night, but roaming around outside the campus is not at all safe as our campus is located in national highways.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
