Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum at NLUO is comprehensive and contemporary in nature. It equips an individual not only with intrinsic knowledge of the field but also helps an individual with real world application of the same.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college provides very credible internships starting from 3rd year, at law firms, in house companies, chambers etc. Internships are provided by internship committee. This provided students with exposure to research work, corporate life and the legal field in general.

Placement Experience

4

Students of NLUO primarily get placed in Law firms, Corporate Organisations and Policymaking Orgainsations. Placements depend on the conditions of market economy. But every year, several Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 law firms recruit minimum 40 students at NLUO. If the market conditions are right the same can go up to 80. Further students also get placed from internships in addition to those in campus placements. Other students go for judicairy preparation, litigation and other competitive exams

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fees is 246890 rupees. (General, SC, ST) Several incentives like SBI student loan and other scholarships are available. Tuition Fees is 120000 Admission Fees 10000 Hostel Fee is 30000 Sports Fee is 4000 Moot Court/seminar/workshop is 6000 Library Fee is 10000

Campus Life

5

Campus life is great at NLUO. Students are always engaged in sports activities, cultural programmes, committees work, moot courts etc. The college provides decent infrastructure for every curricular activity at NLUO.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are two hostels each, for boys and girls respectively. In every hostel there is one common mess for students that provides with decent food. Double occupancy for first years and single occupancy from 2nd year onwards. Hostel fee is 30000 and per semester fees of mess committee is around 19000.

Admission

I applied for several colleges like HNLU Chattisgarh, GNLU, KIIT School of Law and Christ School of Law, but went for NLUO because of the excellent placement record and exposure to several opporunities. No I was not rejected from the other colleges. Admission process includes - Clearing the CLAT exam, clearing the required Cut offs for NLUO, getting alloted by Consortium of NLUs.

Faculty

4

At NLUO we have end semester examinations of 60 marks at the end of every semester along with Projects of 20 marks and Tutorials of 10 Marks. Faculty to student ratio is pretty decent at NLUO. Most of faculties at NLUO are contractually hired. The faculty use several teaching methods like power point presentations, lectures and demonstrations. The faculty at NLUO is student friendly, receptive to needs and academic requirement of students which is helpful for maneuvering through law school.

Night Life

4

The college is situated at the outskirts of a city, hence there is nothing much around the campus per se. But the life inside campus is pretty active. Students after classes delve into activities like gyming, cricket, football, spending time in library, engaging in debates, prepping for competitions, or simply strolling in the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements for Law have started recently and though aren't in full fledged but somehow they are good to motivate the juniors. 30-40k which is I feel a proud salary for a law student to begin with as otherwise even after studying law students are seen interning.

Placement Experience:

Well, I passed out in 2024 and till then some corporate houses such as Bajaj and Deloitte were the only major corporate houses which provided us placements. Also, firms like Khaitan & Co and others also started coming for placements. On and average 40-50k were the initial salaries that law students of our college were given.

Placement Experience:

Law firms of litigation or corporate law firms were among other who have joined hands with KIIT School of Law. It's an amazing college and placements too are good as generally freshers lawyers don't get what students of KIIT School of Law are paid from campus placements of KIIT School of Law. Thus our placements are next to NLUO in Orissa.

Placement Experience:

From 8th semester students become eligible for placement. Quickflex and some other companies visited our university and around 15-20 offers are made. The highest placement is 500000rs per year and the average package is around 350000 per year. 20-25% students get placed. My 1st plan is to get placed somewhere and then start my preparation for judiciary.

The college has a seperate Placement Cell and the placement cell offers us placements. The students get eligible for placement after the completion of 4th year. There are many companies like Infotech limited, Riseon limited, Wipro limited, etc. they come for placements. The highest package is 55000/- per month that is received in our campus. In our campus 75% of students get admissions per batch. My interest is to continue persuing LLM in this institution after the completion of my BA LLB (H) course.

Students of our college gets placements easily. A lot of companies and the best is ITC and other FMCG group too are a part of our college placements. 4-6 lakhs is what graudates are paid and I think as per the college and the kind of fees we pay, it's quite reasonable the paycut I mean.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed the college because it is nearer to my town. There are less regular faculty and more guest faculty. Some faculty teaches better. Semester Exams held at a interval of 4-5 months. It depends on one's study pattern whether it's difficult or easy to pass the semester exams.

Placement Experience:

Law colleges as such don't [provide placements in a holistic way like B-schools or engineering schools. Although there exist tie-ups with top tier firms especially when it is an NLU, and other banks and companies. Considering litigation exists many students don't opt for placements.
