Ayub's experince of Biotechnology passing on 2017

I chose 5 year integerated course to finish the Masters fast and thinking of getting started with Phd. The course M.Tech B.tech dual degree biotechnology is the degree course, in real world if the person has immense interest in research work than this course is suitable. Area of improvement can be funds or Aids for the student so they can pursue their studies and arranging of Fellowships for research The frequency and timings of the exam were optmised but the assignments and the syllabus were sometimes not able to complete

The internship opportunity were opened from the 7th semester of the b.tech our college has dedicated Placement and training Cell that actiely collaborates with the companies and organizations to provide internship opportunities. They help student prepares resumaes,conduct mock interviews and connect with the recruiters across various industries. there were two types of internships Paid as well as free. paid internships were lesser in number and that too out of station means outside the college premisis or may be out of city also

student use to become eligible for the placement after they complete thier 7th sem for B.tech biotechnology and 5th semester for B.Sc biotechnology The problem which most of the Biotech students faced that Integral runs both the courses Biotech and B.Pharma. Companies use to prefere B.Pharma graduates much compared to Biotech people. Also Tcs use to higher botech people with Computer science graduates but when the chance came and Tcs came for campus placement Biotech people were denied. So TCS made 100 % hiring from Computer Science stream. 50% OF the student got placed and among thos 50% of the students actually joined the company

Year wise fees was about 120000 which included Tuition fees (Major part), exam fees, Caution money etc. Around 10000 rs. increased year on year during the course. On starting of 8th sem of B.Tech got the option to pursue M.tech also as in integerated course, Making it 5years of integerated course as dual degree. one sem (half year) removed from B.tech part and one sem (half year) removed from M.tech part. The internship or the last semester thesis was paid if done in house means from the university department itself.

My overall experince with campus life has been enriching particulary n the areas of social interaction and infrastructure. The college infrastructure greatly supported both academic and extra curricular activities well equipped class rooms , modern labs and libraries created a productive learning enviorenment. The campus also had the dedicated spaces for sports , clubs and auditoriums that made organising the events and participating easy and enjoyable. Annual mushaira were organised every year and other Annual day events were organised under the tag name Fiesta. Various sports activity also happened frequently in regular times

there were three kind of rooms in the college campus hostel for boys 3 seater about 4000 per year 2 seater about 50000 per year and 1 seater about 60000 per year all inclusive like meals and gym facilites and library option. we were provided 4 times meal every day breakfast for 7 am to 8:30 am class timings were from 9 am to 4 pm with 1 hour break in between from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm so the lunch timing in hostel mess was 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm and the distance from hostel to class was about 400 to 500 meters. then supper eveneing breakfast was a tea and snack from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm and the dinner timing was 8 pm to 10:30 pm our mess used to provide non vegetarian food only twice a week. inside hostel college campus hostel were provided at the time of taking admission only. Registrtion was don only in the begining of the year and not in mid year

I chose Integral university Lucknow over SRM kathankulathur Chennai campus. Bieng a North Indian the primary reason was distance, budget and enviorenment like food and hostel. Integral University at that time was muslim minority college with good placements in TCS for Computer science and biotech department also. SRM university on the other hand will give more exposure to real world challenges and subsequently better plaement opportunity

faculty to student ratio was about 40:1. All faculties were approachable mostly some students have good relationship but some students have only fair relation with their faculty. Soban Faridi was the best faculty and guide who was very much approachable liked him due to helping nature. Adnan sir was not liked by most of the students due to his extra ordinary strict nature there were about 6 to 7 exams each semester before that there were the tests and before and afteer each subject tests we were given with multiple assignments. Course curriculum were relevant. Those who opted food tech in the 7th sem and embryology in the 7th sem got better opportunities as that was the need of that time. Marking schemes were like 20% was internal marks plus 10% was the lab work and 70% was external Proctored exams.

During the admission phase 1stly a short test was taken on the basis of class 11 and class 12 syllabus. the test was MCQ and time bounded. after getting the results on the basis of the stream opted in class 11 I was provided the option for botechnology only as i didnt have maths instead had biology. criterion of admission was time means the beginnig of the session with atleast 70% of marks in class 12 cbse. after the test a short interview was taken by the counselor then i was asked to deposit the admission fees

we have the gyms in the hostel premises itself. Both the girls and boys have separate hostel premises with the distinct entry and exits and proper 24/7 camera facility in terms of safety. College campus is located in outskirts of Lucknow so the area for girls was little concerning but not much. The girls hostel check in time was max by 9 pm and the boys hostel check in time was 10 pm. The area around the campus hostels also have the lots of private hostels available which bring in the good options in terms of budget and mess quality for the student
