Remarks

The college campus is really good offering sports like table tennis, squash, tennis, badminton , athletic track, and much more also the faculty is good. Placements of the college are not so good but with post graduation placements get better.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

There is a wide variety of courses that the college offers. There are vocational courses and short term courses too. Exams are held twice a year. Exams are conducted by college and the papers are set by Mumbai University

Placement Experience

3.5

The college does not directly provide internships but they invite firms to offer internships and courses. Placements are not that great but placements get better with post graduation. It is a reputed college and many alumni have become successful

College Events

Throughout the year there are 5-6 events. There is freshers party for FY students. There are different events for Navratri, Diwali,Christmas and there are events that bring awareness about Health, Environment, Organ donation ,blood donation etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very affordable. For Graduation courses it ranges between 5k-20k and even if that is high for some students the college provides concession and scholarships to students who cannot pay the fees

Fees and Financial Aid

I don’t really know about any scholarships but I’ve heard that they offer scholarships to students who have weak financial background and who are fom the backward castes. They also provide concession on college fees

Campus Life

4.5

Extracurricular activities are really good. They have many different sports like badminton, tennis, athletic track, and they are even planning to build an olympic swimming pool. Other activities include art exhibitions, science exhibition etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The college conducts reunion for alumni and they interact with present students and help them solve their doubts. Some senior students are selected by the faculty and they help juniors by going to their classes and clearing their doubts.

Admission

I got admission in the college by merit list. The admission process is pretty simple. You just have to fill the online form and if you have enough marks you will be given admission on first come first serve basis.

Faculty

The faculty of the college is really good. Most of the teachers speak in English but some of them struggle to do so. Nevertheless , their teaching is really good and lectures are worth sitting.

College is Good

Likes

Infrastructure is just too good- Building is Fully Air Conditioned
Placement are really decent for a Commerce Graduate around 6-7 Lakhs per annum
Lots of student Associations are there to gain practical exposure.

Dislikes

Very Strict Attendance Policy of 75 Percent.
Rigid and Time Consuming Course Structure
Lot of Fests are there but they do not match the Vibe like North Indian Colleges Fests

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent around 6-7 LPA and almost 50% students get placed and the Highest package is Around 22LPA . Many MNCs visit the college such as McKinsey,Barclays, Goldman Sachs etc. • I am planning to get placed in a MNC.

My special 3 years which I spend was golden to me

Likes

Most important thing I like about my college is they are like the whole college is so creative.
There are many different batches or mat department but when it comes to fest or festivals they comes together to celebrate it
Talking about placement, the placement cell is soo good that I'll say every colleges should have this level of college cell as they invited, big companies such as Deloitte, hdfc bank,KPMG

Dislikes

The point which I dislike about my college is they should increase campus
Some of the teachers really need to behave like when they talk to students they don't know the manners
Basically the watchman is not good at all I personally feel that they really need to change their watchman as their is many girls in my college so at least one or two lady watchmen should college hire for their safety

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my college they provide us a presentation concept in which they teach us about how to face the real world and the remove the fear of speaking to world .they try to make every student more confident in any manner. Basically my department is soo good that they teach us alot of real world how to speak, how to look, how to handle everything in professional manner

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally relevant and comprehensive especially due to specific aspect like its practical ,updated syallabus ,aligned subject which strongly influenced my decision to choose this course for my future aspect and the exam frequency and timming are managed was fair not difficult theory was little hard

Pillai college inside out

Likes

Teachers are well qualified and experienced
The curriculum is suitable for students who are doing professional courses like CA CS ACCA etc.
There is always a scope for starting a side hustle in this college. You will find many associations and clubs

Dislikes

The examination results are always unexpected. Correction of papers and result declaration is unsatisfactory as marks are not given properly.
The extra facilities provided in college seems to be just for name sake because there is very limited time to access the facilities.
The schedule of the college is dynamic and there is no concrete timetable. Teachers complete their syllabus in last moment

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is relative to Mumbai University curriculum. College takes intiative in making the student confident as it includes practicing presentation skills and builds communication skills simultaneously.

An honest review of my college experience

I applied for S.I.E.S college of science, arts and commerce, Mumbai and kj Somaiya college of science, arts, and commerce. But i got confirmation in sk somaiya college. So I choose this college over others i Waited for this college because I heard many fascinating thing about this college. Other college like kj somaiya i didn't get admission because of percentage eligibility there was more cutoff comparatively. The eligibility of my college is minimum 80% above percentage and exams such as ssc board then CBSE board are required, if talking about experience I had a very mid experience because I didn't took all the required documents and i had to run to xerox place but one thing is good that the xerox place was available in the college itself . Admission process depends on you and your experience....Read More

The years I will remember.

I applied to KJ and Rizvi as well and got confirmation from Rizvi, but after comparing it with SK Somaiya in aspects such as sports and curriculam, SK Somaiya was the best fit for me. I did get rejected in KJ Somaiya because of my marks in 10th, KJ is known to have the highest cut-offs. The admission process is centralised and is done on the basis of merit and seat available. The eligibility depends on each years cut offs and requirements....Read More
