Likes

the faculty is highly supportive with many professor holding phds and encouraging research projects as well as practical learning
the placement cell is very active and reputed companies like google microsoft apple Amazon tata steel deloitte visit the campus
the infrastructure is well developed with mordern labs central library hostels medical facilites anad sports activites

Dislikes

some hostels buildings old and need better maintaience especially in terms of washroom .the mess food is average and can be improved
the campus is located bit far from metro cities so exposure to industries is slightly limited campared to nits closer to large hubs
the girls to boys ratio is 1 : 7 in btech courses

placement is very good in this college many tech giants vist the campus such as google microsoft delloite apple tata steels, thhe average package is about 16 lpa highest is 80lpa approx 148 companes visted this year and total offer for cse is 157 out of 190

Fees and Financial Aid

the fees structure at nit durgapur is quite transparent.for btech student in the general and obc category the tuition fees is around 62,500rs per semester making it approx rs 1,25,000 per year in addition there are compulsory charges such as registration fees(rs 1000 , one time) development and lab fees (rs 10000 to 12000 yearly) and a refundable caution deposit of rs 5000 at the admission.hostel charges comes to about rs15000 approx for first year total annual expenditure for general/obc is rs2 .2 - 2.5 lakh . for SC/ST student the tuition fee is fully waived so they only pat hostel mess nd miscellaneous charges which is around rs80,000 nearly.

Campus Life

campus size not too large it is 189 acres not so big . good infra well mannered labs clubs are highly skilled and take take before inductess us decided many people play football , play cricket all the days

Admission

it choose this college because it is near my house and it is well settled college and having good placement record in the past many big comanies visit the campus .the competition in this college is very high

Faculty

the faculty to students ratio at the durgapur is round 1 : 20 - 1:25 which is fairly balanced for a national level institute . most professor are highly qualified with many having completed phds from reputed nits , iits and foreign universities.some professors are strict with deadlines and attendence but overall they are encouraging and motivate students to go beyond textbooks.the name of the faculties that is like the most is BS sir digital logics and design in cse dept they always motivate us to do somethings new .there will be 2 exams only one 25 marks and one 60 marks .less 10percent people fail to clear the eam

I rate my college course curriculum is so good see them i will take admission in this college and the faculties teaching methods are good exam time will fix by exam board and they always think about students comfort.

Likes

The infrastructure of the college is good.I would consider the college as very clean.
The campus life is pretty good but there are strict instructions to freshers to not roam in the campus.

Dislikes

I disliked the condition of the bathroom and the corridor on the first day.
My hostel room was very filthy.The workers charges ₹100 for cleaning it

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students become eligible for placements.Google, Microsoft,Gold Man Sacks, Apple were some of the companies that visited NIT Durgapur For placement regard.The highest package was 80lpa and the average package was 13 lpa.Total of 83% students got placed.The placement is quite good.

Likes

The faculty are well taught and the campus is very beautiful . The buildings are like newly bulid . and the campus is very clean.
In our branch the boys and girls ratio is almost 16:11.
The senior behave like a friend and they help us a lot and they also very supportive.

Dislikes

The college campus is too small compare to other colleges.
The college classes are not regularly held and the attendance system is not very good.
The classes are very boing and sometime it feels like aa school and the labs are not held timely.

Placement Experience:

our college average package is 600000 per Anum and highest package is 1800000 per Anum according to recent data. and 80% of student got placed . And wipro , windows, tcs , siemens , tata like companies come to our college for placement. Core students are also got placed but many of them goes for hihger studies.

Likes

One of the best things about my college is all the classrooms and labs are fully air conditioned. The classrooms, labs and even the toilets are cleaned regularly, which really helps to create a comfortable learning environment.
All the clubs of the college remain active all the time no matter whether it's technical clubs or fest related clubs like fun events domain, etc.
The most important thing is that the college is entirely ragging -free. College also maintains a healthy girls to boys ratio.

Dislikes

The classrooms are quite compact compared to the number of students in each class . At times it feels overcrowded and a bit uncomfortable during lectures.
Some of the faculty members are relatively inexperienced. It often feels like they don't have full command over the subject they're teaching, which can affect the overall understanding of important concepts.
Another issue I've noticed is the irregularity in certain subject classes. Not all subjects are taught consistently every semester , and there are high chances of some classes getting missed or not scheduled properly.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible to sit for placements form 7 th semester that is from the beginning of final year. Usually the service based companies come here with cgpa criteria and offer jobs to students.

lab circumtances are lightly good.we can share our opinion their.
use of projector is very helpful for us .
faculties behaviour is good ,they are quite helpful toward us.

Dislikes

small area campus is that what I do not like
canteen facilities are not good enough .
small space library are not enough for all students

Placement Experience:

after 6th sem those students who scored above 7 CGPA are eligible for campus placements. name of companies- TCS,Campgemini,Accenture,Delloite etc. average package -320000 70 percent most of students got placed. I want to job at IT sector after getting the degree.

Likes

Labs are not well maintained the machines are very slow

In case of my couse everything is coverd but it would have been much better of they focus on practicals more rather than theory. If they make us aware of all the new technologies that are used in the industry.

My experience about techno

Likes

Ragging free campus. Strict action are taken against those who found guilty.
Classrooms are well equipped and are spacious.
There are many fun events that happen in the college

Dislikes

The campus area is too small. The library is not good
The societies are fully controlled by students so huge partiality goes on.
Some of the teachers are mean and are not good.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards , students become eligible for internships and stepping in 4th yr , students get eligible for campus placement. Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

Experienced Faculty-students often appreciate a good blend of practical and theoretical knowledge.Faculty members in some department are often known for thier excelence knowledge and experience
Excelent Campus-techno india university has a large campus with excelent facilities such as libraries,labs,seminar halls etc. Some students finds this facilitries useful
Funs and Events-techno india university provides a vibrant campus life with events that span a wide range of interests

Dislikes

Time Management-the one thing that I disliked was their time management.They dont provide a proper shedule for exams,routines etc
Teaching Methods-some students feels that cirtain teaching methods(like a focus on lecture without without interactive learning or industry exposure) must be improved
Placement-techno india university does prepares thier students for placement they only give them the opportunity

Placement Experience:

Elegibility for placement-Generally students become elligible for campus placement in their 7th semester or 8th semester and there might be some prerequisties such as minimum CGPA must be 6-7 with no bachlogs Internship and pre-placement offers-many companies offer internships during the 6th semester or 7th semester and successful interns may receive pre-placement offers if their performance is good. Companies that visits campus: TCS Accenture Cognizent Infosys Wipro Capgemini Deloite Byjus Tech Mahindra Placement Percentage-On average 80%-90% of students may secure jobs through campus placements.However this numbers could vary across different departments and specialization Highest and average package-The highest salary offered at Techno India University was 24 LPA and the average salary was 4-5 LPA. Plans after getting the degree: My plans depends on placement.If I get a job of around 15 LPA then I will not do master degree and if I get job of around 4-5 LPA then I will do master for further great opportunities

The college campus is very big and beautiful.
The cultural fests and annual fest is also great.
The ganga ghat is really close from the college.

Dislikes

The faculty is bullshit .some profs are ok,but some are horrible.
The college hostels accommodation is really bad
The ratio of girls to boys is very poor.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is okay and companies like google, Microsoft, Capgemini ,Tata,Mahindra also comes during placement.The off campus placement record is also fantastic.The were scenarios in the past years where few students got packages like 50-70 lpa.

I applied for multiple NITs During Josaa Counselling but my top 5 suitable choice according to my home location and considering other limiting factors was NIT Rourkela, NIT Silchar, NIT Durgapur, NIT Patna and IIEST Shibpur. Apart from these, I have also Applied for Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. I have got approval from NIT DGP,Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. But I have chosen NIT because of better Placement records and better campus Life. Moreover it's an Institution of of National Importance and Hold a good NIRF rank. So I preferred this choice above others. I wasn't rejected from the above colleges, but simply i didn't get the eligible rank for them. And the 3 which I got, i choosed the best among them. The Admission process of NIT DGP was through Josaa and CSAB counselling. The College and the Branch will be alloted to you according to your rank in the JEE MAINS Examination. The Closing rank of this exam in 2025 of General Category for the lowest Branch in BTech is 63387. The overall admission process for the college, apart from hostel allotment, was completely online. 14-15 documents were to be submitted in pdf format in the specific website provided. I was getting all nits of india and also some iits.The only reasons of not choosing them is branch ,i was getting lower branches in all other colleges so i choose this. I think this was the best college onmy rank. NIT DURGAPUR - A Detailed Breakdown

I applied for GURU GHASIDAS UNIVERSITY, BILASPUR (a GFTI in chattishgarh) and i got an secured seat in the CSE department too of that college too in my 2nd round of JOSAA councelling but in the CSAB round 1 i got a seat in NIT Durgapur in the Biotechnology department. I was a NEET aspirant but due to scam of NEET 2024 i was unable to get a good rank and secure a good government medical college and i was passionate about biology from my childhood so i chose Biotechnology and obviously an NIT is far more better than any GFTI be it in terms of placement, infrastructure, environment or any other things. I applied for some higher prioritized brances too in my choice filling but due to poor rank i wasn't able to secure a seat there. Students get seats in NIT(s), IIIT(s) and in GFTI (s) through JOSAA (a counselling process of 5 rounds) and CSAB (a counselling process of 2 rounds) and in IIT (s) through JOSAA counselling only. Students secure their desired seats based on their merits with the rank that they obtained in their JEE Mains exams and JEE ADVANCED (for IIT ) although admission is based on ranks but the authority have criterias like you have to score 75% marks in maths ,physics and chemistry in your Boards exams or you should be among top 20 percentile students of your class 12th board exams there is a separate process of admission too for the foreign students and NRI students althogh the fees structure is very high for their courses.The overall counselling process was good and seamless but after allotment of the college, the document verification and fees submission process is a little hectic....Read More
