Course Curriculum Overview

4

Bcom Hons focuses on financial, corporate and cost accounting and finance, they provide strong foundational knowledge. The curriculum is also alligned with professional courses like CA,CMA,CS whish is essential for long term career planning. Exposure to Law and Economics was another motivating factor. The course covers practical skills through case studies, projects and presentations. Core subjects are challenging and electives are moderate.

Placement Experience

3

Placement at the college are limited, students mainly start internships from 4th semester. Companies like Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG visit the campus offerring various roles related to auditing, bussiness analytics etc. The highest package ranges from 8 to 12 LPA, Average is around 5 to 7 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for B.com Hons at Ramjas College is approximately Rs.65000. The fee is paid online through the college portal. We also have to fill an examination form for each semester, the cost of the form varies each semester, which ranges from Rs.1200 to Rs.1600 for Bcom hons students, while the science students have to pay Rs.1800 to Rs.2200. Financial aid is available for students who have demonstratedd outstanding academic performance or students who have excelled in sports or cultural activities or those who are from minority communities.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is very vibrant and well rounded. Cultural fests also take place in the months of feburary, march and april. The library is well stocked, canteen is fine with low people holding capacity, buildings are clean, well maintained, each floor has various clean washrooms . Classrooms are large with big windows. We also have two three lush green lawns with benches and two big grounds. The best building is the sports complex which has a gym with various equipments.

Admission

I chose Ramjas College because of its prestige and strong commerce faculty despite apllying to SRCC, Hindu and Hansraj. I didnt make it to these colleges due to slightly lower masks and their high cut offs. The admission is merit based via CUET with cut offs arount 95 to 99%.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculty members are highly approachable, they encourage students to take part in discussions an clarify doubts. Mrs. Manju Gupta, who teaches comapny law is very approachable and patient and explains all the concepts very clearly. Mrs. Sangeeta Rani who teaches HRM makes classes engaging and interactive. B.com Hons is a three year course which is divided in 6 semesters, core subjects are: Business Law, Compaany Law, Principles of Management, Cost Accounting, Audditing, Economics, Income Tax and Financial Accounting. The course also includes Electives and skill based subjects. Each semester we have assignments, presentations and internal tests and end semester exams.

Night Life

3

Night life in Ramjas is fun. Students hangout in lawns, corridors and canteen areas. Nearby spots like Kamla nagar, CP, Hudson Lane, vijay nagr offer various cafes and dining services. Students mostly go out to these places with their friends on outtings.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although, people say that B.Com doesn't have a great scope to it, I feel like there are many life lessons that we are taught during our college years. Since the introduction of NEP 2020, there has been a rather great emphasis on practical learning. In our college, we are asked for presentations and group projects to promote learning and communication. The presence of SEC and VAC also helps you develop your soft skills, groom your personality and live a happy and healthy life. Exams are help at the end of every semester. There are a few guides and PYQs with the help of which a student can prepare for these exams. They are relatively easy in my opinion and do not require extreme efforts. Overall, it's a great experience and a great opportunity to learn so many things.

In the context of a fictional scenario, the placement scenario would depend on the specific college within Delhi University. Some colleges have robust placement cells that facilitate campus placements with various companies. The placement scenario can vary, and it's advisable to check with the specific college for accurate and up-to-date information.

I choose b.Com because I am from a commerce background. It is an open college class held only on Sundays classrooms are good but washrooms are average. Teachers are experienced and well-educated. Exams are held on every 6 months semester wise you have to study hard to clear exams.
