All About "Haldia Institute Of Technology"

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

The year wise fee is approximately - 1,40,000 As far as I know the caution money is 20,000 and the admission fee is the same as the first semester fees. Here the fee for all the branches of engineering are the same. SVMC scholarship is available for students of WestBengal in which students recieve 60000/semester and for students of Bihar, they have some Bihar State Scholarship but I do not know the value of scholarship.

- The clubs here are generally good, year round many online and offline events are conducted but I would not say that it has a good culture of events/social events. Here some events are paid and some are unpaid so student gets opportunity. I would rather say that joining any club or participating in any events of clubs here are just a waste of time. - Library has many books with most of them of old edition with very few new books. - The technologies in labs are good with updated desktops with latest OS version. - Sport facilities as such are not there and there are no GYM trainers or sports mentor but yes there is a GYM, a football ground/cricket ground and a basketball court.

- I was getting this college through my WBJEE rank so I entered this college. My rank was around 10,000 in which I was unable to get the government colleges and top private colleges of WestBengal. - The admission process of my college is through WBJEE rank, JEE Mains rank and through Donation Quota where the donation depends on the branch student wants, generally donation ranges from 1.5 lakhs to 8 lakhs. The last year's cutoff for my college for the last branch probably Biotechnology was 85,000.. so it is easy to get in here in this college with little effort

- The faculty to student ratio in a batch is 1:75 (one faculty vs 75 students). Some faculties are good and some are totally worst and does partiality with few students. - Ex-HoD (DS) Sumit Kumar Maity Sir is too good with his knowledge of mathematics and is very friendly and tries to give out of the box opportunites to students. Machine Learning faculty for DS branch is also good. - Worst faculty from DS branch is of DSA, she does partiality more than teaching. The Statistics faculty is okay with teaching but worst in student management. - Every Year there are 2 semester exams of 70 marks and in between there are 3 CTs (class tests) which are of just 15 marks, Exam is of moderate difficulty and mostly the questions are from teacher's notes. Most of the students clear the exam except some getting backs in some subjects. The course curriculum is old and not updated as per current industry standards.

- There is a GYM open from 4pm in the evening to 9pm at night, Library is generally open from 10am in morning to 7pm in the evening, there are two cafeterias generally open for the college hours till 8pm in the evening. - Hostel timings for girls are till 7.30pm and for boys (only 1st Year) is till 7.45pm, there are no hostel for boys from 2nd Year onwards. - Famous hangout spot after college is in Sankhachil cafeteria, Gunchill cafeteria, Football ground and Chai Tapris outside college campus.
