Likes
- College Atmosphere is electric as its lash green surroundings complements the rich heritage and culture it possess.
- Cultural activities from various resources were also a great memory of my college days. We took part in freshers welcome, Football tournament, Chess tournament and various life learning seminars arranged by the Theosophical Society.
- Faculties of my Political Science department were super helpful. Patrali Maam, DB Sir, Sudeepto Sir along with Pallavi Maam were the pillars of the department.
Dislikes
- In my times, there was some union related issues which somehow effects daily college life.
- Administrative department was not so active that times as many of the students were unaware about the indicative routines or fees payment date due to their mismanagement.
- There was no proper kitchen or Canteen those days.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was fond of international reletaions in my +2 days, thats why I choose Political Science as my honours subject over History. Hence. later I found very boring and monotonous in the first year of its syllabus. After having 3 years of immense syllabus, I have finally fall in love with subject in the final as my beloved IR(International Relations) subjects finally came into my life. There was yearly only one exam contains 2 parts accumating questions.
Fees and Financial Aid
I was admitted in the college on 2009, with 1,500/- INR for the entire year, and there after 800/- Rupees per year admission renewal cost. I didnot apply any scholarship during my tenure. Hence, there was some scholarship grant from both Central and State government.
Campus Life
Campus life was very good. Not only activities, we used to spend time in its lash green premises and the banks of river ganges was also complementing. We had two cultural events at the college, one was freshers welcome and other was Fest. Freshers welcome took place usually in the month of August, and Fest was in December. There was clubs as well. I personally headed the sports club in my time.
Admission
Only to choose between Serampore college and The Presidency College because I hadn't fill up the other colleges form that point of time. Hence, I didnot find my name in the first list of Presidency after the mandatory Entrance Exam, then I decides to choose Serampore college as my only option.
Faculty
I was admitted in Department of Political Science. Faculty members were HOD Debojyoti Sir, Pallavi Sengupta Ma'am, Patrali Sinha Ma'am and Sudeepto Ghosh Sir. I was really eager to took all the classes as the teaching methods of everyone were so unique that time.
Night Life
There was no nightlife as the main gates of the college were remain closed by 6 PM sharp. The banks of ganges were filled by students in daytime but in night, there was police picketing to avoid some mishaps.
