- The 7 subject course is a bit tiring according to me. This leads to less focus on core subject and mental exhaustion at the end of the day.
Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate is 8/10. The core subjects cover everything which is necessary for us but other than that the AEC, SEC, VAC, and GE can be a bit exhausting. A change in these subjects would help students a lot to focus on their core subjects, placements and internship.
Internships Opportunities
Our college does provide many internship opportunities (paid and unpaid). Companies like Deloitte, EY, etc has offered roles like accountant, executive, trainee, etc to student to build their portfolio and improve confidence. If performed nicely, they can offer you full time employment as well.
Placement Experience
Students of 3rd semester become eligible for campus placements. Companies like pwc, EY, deloitte has visited our campus and offered packages according to the competency of student. 35-40% people do get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to move abroad and pursue ACCA.
Fees and Financial Aid
So the year-wise fees of hansraj college for the course bcom honours is ?30000. This includes everything except semester examination fees which is ?1500. The fees of FSR is ?100000 for the first year and for the rest of the year, ?30000 will be charged.
Campus Life
I really loved my college in 1st semester itself. I found really good friends, seniors, faculty and all. The technology used in our college is upto date. This college not only focuses on studies, but the socities and college itself provides multiple Opporitinies to show our extra curricular potentials.
Admission
I did not apply to any other colleges as DU was my first and last choice. The admission process is first we have to appear for CUET examination after that we have to fill the form DU publishes. Then we have to select our subject combinations, make preference list and submit it. After the results, we are alloted the college and course we are eligible for. It is a bit lengthy, but trust me, it is worth it.
Faculty
Every 40-50 students has 1 professor which is honestly nice as it leads to proper coverage. Every faculty here is very supportive. I liked my financial accounting faculty (suman jain mam) as she teaches very well. There is no such faculty i didnt like. There are 7 exams and all of them are medium to hard depending on the student's capabilities. Most of the students are able to clear the exam.
Night Life
My favourite hangout spot has to be majnu ka tilla. And late night activity is hovering around, finding new cafes and clicking a lots of pictures and spending time with my friends. In kamla nagar you'll find many photo booths, shopping malls, street shops, etc. And it is actually very safe to hangout at night.
