Remarks
Positive feedback would be that it has a lot of good facilities which can help your academic career grow. Negative feedback would be that they are increasing the number of students every year so it feels like there isn't any space to move around.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good as it covers both industrial and research aspects of biotechnology. And they cover a wide variety of subjects which is good too. The exams here happen in three sets. 2 sets are of 50 marks each and the final set is of 100 marks. There are internals as well which are taken into account to give the final GPA.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are there for select branches only. A lot of companies come for branches like CS, IT, Mechanical by there aren't any for Biotechnology. Internships are there from the college but they aren't for my branch so I can't comment on the experience and stipend.
College Events
There are many events in the college. It has value added programs from time to time. There are 2 major fests, one is a technical fest and another is cultural fest. In these fests there are various activities, workshops, games and events which help you learn new things. There are also daily events held by the club's and chapter here.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a private college, the fees is definitely high. For a middle-class man who if you get into first or second category the fees in manageable. But anything more than that is quite expensive as it costs a fortune to complete your course.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't know if there is any loan facility that the college offers. The college offers scholarship to students from each branch coming in the Top 10. But I feel that the scholarship offered is not enough as it doesn't even cover 10% of educational fees of a category 1 student.
Campus Life
These facilities are good because they have abundant resources for it. They have labs in each building with a wide variety of instruments to be used. There are courts for almost all the sports here so that you can play and practice.
Hostel Facilities
Well the hostel facilities are decent. They have good rooms and accommodations for everyone but some blocks are new and some blocks are older so they aren't uniform. They have sports facilities and laundry facility which is good. Rooms can be bigger and we have time restrictions which are restricting.
Alumni/Alumna
I haven't had the chance to interact with the alumni network but the senior students are quite helpful. Having gone through the same thing as us they do tell us tips and tricks of surviving the hostel life and which books to get for what subjects.
Admission
You have to sit for an entrance examination called VITEEE. For you to be eligible for the examination you need to score a minimum of 60% in your board examination. This is an online mode of examination with questions from physics, chemistry and maths/biology. After this you get a rank and based on this rank, counselling for course happens. You can go to any campus of VIT and chose a course for which seats are left.
Faculty
I believe some faculty are good who are passionate about teaching and some aren't. All of them are qualified but this might not be the job best suited for them. But VIT has enough faculty for all the students studying here so that no one is left out.
