Remarks
Overall it is a good university to study and enjoy your college life. It provides almost which is expected from a college. Life there is chill and there is not much pressure on the studies. The faculties are good and the class itself gives you a good understanding of the course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The courses offered were of a good level providing a deep understanding of the subject along with research and practical knowledge which is optional. Exam structure: There were 2 exams in the starting and mid of the semester each of which had a 15% contribution to the final marks. There was 4 quiz which had a 5% contribution. The final exam had 50% weightage.
Placement Experience
Placements are above average. There were at least 500 companies visited in our year. The maximum package was of 24LPA around and the average was around 5 for the CS branch. Internships were also provided by various companies with a stipend ranging from 10k to 30k
College Events
There are 2 major fests organized every year. GraVITas, the tech fest organized every year around September and Riviera organized around February. Riviera is one of the best cultural fests across the country, where many top artists, actors pay their visit.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was feasible some years ago but It is getting expensive every year. The quality of the college justifies the fee though. Students living inside the campus have to pay the hostel fee as well. Although it is one of the few colleges which gives you proper college life.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are provided to underprivileged students or students with less family income. Loan facilities are provided to students by various banks at the time of admission. Overall most facilities are available.
Campus Life
Sports faculties are amazing. There are crickets, the football ground in both boys and girls hostel along within a common area. Basketball courts, indoor stadiums, swimming pools are there too. Labs for every course are nicely organized.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are really good. The hostel fee is around 35k for a 4-bed room with Ac, 45k for a 3bed room and increases as the number of bed decreases. The mess fee varies from 27k to 40k for a year depending on the type of mess chosen.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a body of Alumni which provides updates of most things happening and any upcoming meets. A notification is sent to every alumni if any program is being organized and we can register for the same if we are interested.
Admission
VIT conducts a private entrance known as VITEEE. The first 20000 students were called for the first round of counseling divided into batches of 5000. The seats of the most popular branch CSE was finished at 6000th rank.
Faculty
Highly knowledgeable faculties. Most of them were Ph.D.’s and had a good understanding of the courses. They were keen to distribute the same to the students and really helped them if they wanted to get involved in various researches.
