How I got the admission. well, on the day of the admission, there was a heavy downpour in Chandigarh. I think it was 14th of July 2016, I remember because all my friends were calling me for every minute detail about the admission process a week before the day, like I would know any better than them. There was so much excitement that I couldn't sleep properly for a week before the admission. The pressure build-up was at its peak on the night of 13th. I checked all the documents and forms twice and tried to catch some sleep. I left for the admissions at 8:30 am on my active, but as soon as I left home, the weather went bad. It was raining heavily and all my clothes got wet. Normally in this situation, I should have returned home, but I didn't. Instead, I went to my dad's office to change my clothes. My dad's works at Chandigarh Police headquarters where he had his very own room for keeping formal dresses and uniforms among other stuff. My dad and I are of identical height and weight, that's why I had to wore his t-shirt and trousers to the admissions. Since it was still raining, I took my dad's car to the venue. All my friends that were there were the victims of the bad weather that day except me. We all waited in line for our turns for several hours, but we got admitted into courses of our choices. We all celebrated at Pizzahut even though we all were very exhausted. That night, I had the best sleep I had in weeks.

Gender ratio is pretty stable here with students coming from all types of backgrounds and religion meet to form an extraordinary society. First, I registered as a candidate who can sit for the counseling session through online registration then on the day of counseling I visited college where counseling had to be done, my academic records were checked and based on my jee main score I was given a scholarship of 25000 per semester next, we were called for a conference where we had to describe to respective teachers why we had to opt for that particular stream.

The first step was to pay a sum of 1000 rupees to ipu online counseling portal.Then with the provided login id and password, the candidate was supposed to fill in the preferred college and stream choices. The campus life is great here at AIACTR.No student is forced to do anything.The college gates are open throughout the college timings.The extracurricular activities are great. The fee is not so expensive as compared to other colleges. The total of fee for 1 year is Rs.75000 which can be given in semesters as Rs.37485 for odd semester and Rs.30000 for even semesters. So its worthy to give the fee of whole year at a time. Students must submit the fee before the last day of submitting the fee else after this some amount of fine will be added with fee.

First, I appeared in the entrance exam kIITEE ( KIIT entrance exam). After the publication of results, I got my rank. it was mentioned in result card only. I was eligible for the first round counseling. The counseling dates were sent to me by e-mail. I came to the campus on my counseling date. The counseling started from 10 am. when my turn came I went to the counseling table. faculties were there to assist me. A choice filling form was given to me in which I had to fill the branches in which I would like study. I opted for mechanical engineering. my second choice was electrical engineering. then we deposited the demand draft of Rs 50,000 for seat booking. Then after a week, the final results were published in which our branch was mentioned. The admission date was provided in which we have to come and take admission by verifying our documents like mark sheet etc.

The course curriculum is very nice at our college. In the first year, all the branches have common subjects. My subjects in first semester were Engineering Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Mechanics, communication English, Engineering Drawing and basic electrical engineering. Mechanics was the very interesting paper. Basic concepts of Mechanical Engineering. we studied in mechanics. It is one if the toughest subjects of mechanical. From second year we got all our branch papers like s.o.m (strength of material), e.m (engineering materials) and thermal engineering. different research topics are also discussed in the classrooms. our teachers also encourages us to go for researches in different topics. some of our also doing their researches indifferent.

The gender ratio is good in the college . in B.tech there is a diffrence but in the courses such as MBA, BBA there are seen the equal gender ratio. the campus life is not as good as the other colleges like IIT's, NIT's ,DTu but yes it is somewhat good. one of the worst things is that the reservation of Delhi students which give more opportunity to them and not the student outside Delhi. so there is not much diversity in students. the labs are good excepts the instruments in the physics lab in 1st year. there are inter-university sports matches so the team is selected for games. there are various societies in which students can take part such AAYAm for dramatics , AURA for dance ,KIYARA for fashion.

fees of the college quite high but normal as compared to other private engineering colleges. fees of this college is Rs 1,10,700/- annually and may hike for the upcoming batches. The fees are not acceptable in cash DD or NEFT are acceptable only. other than this you have to deposit RS 5000/- as a security money at the time of joining the college which is refundable after 4 years. and if you wish to avail book bank facility the again you have to deposit Rs 5000/- security money which is also refundable after 4 years.

After qualifying for my UGC NET, ICMR-JRF, I had to apply for the program which was the first elimination round. The advertisement/notice came on the website and the entire application process was done online. After my application was selected, I was called for an entrance exam. After qualifying that I was called for an interview having the entire faculty as the panel. After going through that I got my admission.

I had to do a coursework in my first year to complete a certain number of credits. It was hectic but fun. Got to learn a lot in different courses. I chose different kinds of psychology courses aimed at research and also chose some statistics courses. My course's complete focus is of course on research, hardcore research. I am working in neurocognitive science and it is a tedious topic.

I walked directly to the college for basic details and then applied by filling in the application form. After few days I have received information saying I am shortlisted. I was given sometimes to pay the first installment to confirm the seat and did the same. The best part of the college is its discipline and infrastructure

It has sports events, College day, annual day celebrations, inter-college competitions which bring the best of the students and the events are very big and are conducted for more than a couple of days and it invites people from all over the University.
