Course Curriculum Overview

I am from B.Com and subjects are divided appropriately with a right mix of practical and theory subjects in all semesters. Being a commerce student, all the subjects are relevant and we also have Income Tax, Financial Modelling as a core subject which really helps. I would like to suggest to add compulsory corporate internships to gain exposure and real experience.

Saarang is the annual fest, and there are multiple departmental fest and events. They are good but better fests happens in other DU colleges. Many societies are active. NSS and NCC is famous. Enactus is also there. Cultural society is also popular among DU. Library collection is decent. Most of the books are there. Sports scenario is dull.

Course Curriculum Overview

I personally like finance and accounting field and in bcom hons we widely study about these majors . This led me to opt for this course. All the subjects and their curriculum are great . We can really use them in our real life . Like we study income tax and e filing , financial accounting, tally prime, companies act, etc which are all required as a foundation for a business and accounting. But I feel some subjects should be kept practical only instead of writing anything about it in exams . As a du student we all must have encountered writing unnecessary pages for answers just to make our answer look more suitable. I feel teachers should on quality over quantity of answer as it can improve our learnings.

Campus Life

As i discussed earlier, the campus of this college is very small . It does not have a lawn or open area where students can chill and roam around . There is a sports complex for college but it is also outside the college premises like it is not connected with college .our college does not celebrate all the festivals that are being celebrated around other du colleges . They organise an annual fest of college called ' saarang'. But other societies actively working around. They try to conduct different workshops and events possible and every society conducts their annual fest in February.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee structure is 125000 for my brach (cyber security b.tech),for management students they would take a bit more including donation.first they'll take admission fee as 25000 ( which i paid ). And then they'll give a time span of two months within that time we need to pay the full fee. They'll take around 3000 for library fees extra and all other records fees etc must be paid separately on our own. Talking about scholarships only the oerson who have rembursment will get scholarship amout for that we need to apply and should have bonafied certificate. And then 75% attendance should be mandatory otherwise the scholarship would be cancelled for that year. For 75% we need to get biometrics every morning and evening.

Faculty

The faculty here are good and ok but not much experienced. Like for example say in 30 faculty among them only 10 are well experienced and got to say they are excellent at teaching and interacting with students and good subject teaching too. Some of them are not good at intaracting with students like very strict and that too with no subject knowledge at all. With my experience of 1 year studying at this college, the rating for faculty qnd staff would be an average.

Faculty

When I enrolled here, all of the students irrelevant of their branch were studying the same courses for a year. The subjects were just really a revision of how our fundamentals were strong in higher secondary education. The professors were very helpful and guided us in every way possible, except one subject, i.e. Basic Electrical Engineering, the professor literally failed almost half the batch, 250 students were failed in his subject. It's not that we didn't understand the subject, it's just that we didn't understand his teachings. Excluding that fact, it was very smooth and there was nothing extremely hard. There are 4 exams held per semester, First Unit Test, Mid Sem, Second Unit Test, End Sem. A total of 100 marks : 10+30+10+50. The faculty-student ratio is 15:1

Fees and Financial Aid

For pursuing BTech in Food Engineering and Technology, A student has to pay an amount of ?28143/- PER SEMESTER which is ?1200 more than the rest of the BTech programmes. This ?1200 is for the maintenance and management of the labs required. A student in the sense, if he/she is general and stays in hostel. The amount I have stated includes all of those facilities. There is one more thing to consider, the mess fee which is charged every month for the running of mess. It ranges from 1800-2600 per month in different hostels. Also, if there is reservations quota, students can get the semester fee less, as there hostel fee gets deduced and such similar fees. Some economically weak students also get scholarships which they are to apply before the start of the semester.

Campus Life Experience My overall experience with campus life has been enriching, both academically and socially. The campus offers a balanced environment that encourages learning, collaboration, and personal growth. Festivals and Events Our institution hosts one major annual events that bring great enthusiasm to student life — the annual cultural festival, usually held in March, includes the technical fest as well. These events provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity, innovation, and talent, while also fostering team spirit and cross-department collaboration. Library and Learning Resources The central library is one of the most resourceful areas on campus, offering a wide range of textbooks, research journals, e-resources, and reference materials. Students have access to online databases and digital libraries ensuring that academic material is always accessible. The reading areas are spacious and quiet, making it an ideal place for focused study. Classrooms and Technology Classrooms are well-equipped with modern teaching aids such as smart boards, projectors for my branch. This technological support enhances interactive learning and makes lectures more engaging. Many departments also have dedicated labs and innovation centers that promote hands-on learning and project-based work. Sports and Extracurriculars The college offers facilities for sports through many departments. Annual sports meets encourage participation and healthy competition among students. In addition, various cultural clubs, music and dance groups, art societies, and literary associations provide opportunities for creative expression. Clubs, Student Portals, and Social Engagement The campus is vibrant with student-run clubs such as the Coding Clubs, Eco Club, Literary Club, and Photography Club, in various departments among others. These organizations conduct workshops, competitions, and community outreach programs that significantly enrich student life. The student portal and

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio depends for classes and labs, the students are allocated proctors for which the ratio is decent that is for 32 students 1 mentor/proctor. The faculty here is well educated and professional and guides students taking in account of the real world scenarios. For each academic year, you'll be having 2 semesters and for every semester there will a exams for the respective subjects that you have studied in that semester, the overall gpa that you get in the sem will contribute to your final cgpa with this cumulative of all the semester exams that you're going to write in your course. Now, in each semester for every subject you have to give 2 mid exams (mid term) each for 40 marks(or 30), the average of these marks will be taken into account for your internal assessment of that respective subject. You have to give the semester exam for 60 marks and 40 will be your internal assessment. There will be credits for each subject as well (some non credit subject are also there as well). For lab exams, the external and internal marks vary.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am pursuing bcom. hons at Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi. The total fee i paid for my first year is 27,000. As i belong to the general category, the same fee structure applies to many of the same category. Students admitted under reserved categories, (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) are eligible for fee consessions as per University of Delhi's policies. The college also offers financial aid and other schemes for reserved categories and minority students. currently, i am not availing any scholarship or financial aid.

Course Curriculum Overview

i chose this course because i am deeply interested in finance and commerce-related subjects. the curriculum is well structured and to create theoretical knowledge and practical applications through case studies, projects and presentations. i still believe there is scope of improvement in this by increasing the level of internship opportunities, workshops and exposure to financial softwares used.

Course Curriculum Overview

I would rate the course curriculum as highly relevant and fairly comprehensive especially for the students inclined towards applied science and technology. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between the theoretical understanding and the practical application, supported by well equipped laboratories and project based assessments. The inclusion of skill enhancement course and the discipline elective papers provides felxibility and helps students explore interdisciplinary areas. but there is still a room for improvement in making the styllabus more industry oriented, such as integrating internships and live projects and workshops with industry partners to enhance pratical exposure. exams are also prepared in a way that simply memorizing the concept won't help rather deep understanding of the subjects would be needed that is they are much more aplication of comcept oriented. with consistent preparation you can perform well.

Campus Life

My overall experience at the campus has been engaging, balanced and academically enriching. The college offers a mix of academics, co curriculars and social involvement. The college hosts its annual fests the most awaited events, featuring music , dance and intercollege competitions . infrastructure is great as i mentioned earlier. student life is vibrant due to numerous student lead clubs and committees i myself was part of 3-4 clubs as there was no restrictions on numbers of club you joined. there are various events organsied by different clubs throughout the year where students collaborate with different vendors and stakeholders which promotes thier real life problem handling, team work and resilience to work in proper business environment the college's social media handles keeps everyone updated about whats going on in the college. The only constraint here is budget and the lack of support from college administration.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is really relevant to the modern day and is really connect to the course. With subjects like english, history, political science, economics, sociology, psychology and other law subjects its a perfect combination to study real world. My personal preference for humanities related courses influenced my decision. The curriculum includes assignments presentation group projects that teaches various skills setting us ready for real world skills. No such improvements are needs everything is really good. Exams are mid semesters and end semesters with assignments and presentations in between. The difficulty level is medium.

Campus Life

There are various clubs like rotaract club, youth red cross, NCC, different cells and centers that make the campus life really enjoyable. They help in enhancing your skills and confidence. VJIT encourages a healthy mix of academics and extracurriculars. The campus offers sports facilities for cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, and indoor games like chess and table tennis. Annual sports events promote teamwork and physical fitness. The college also has active student clubs such as the Finance Club, Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), Cultural Club, and Rotaract Club, which organize workshops, competitions, and social service activities. These clubs help students develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills beyond academics. The student portal and LMS system make it easy to access academic materials, attendance, and updates digitally.Campus life at VJIT is lively, inclusive, and full of learning opportunities. The institute hosts major events like the annual cultural fest “Yuva” (held around February–March) and the technical fest “Technovation” (usually in September), which showcase students’ creativity and technical skills. The central library is well-stocked with books, journals, e-resources, and access to databases like DELNET and EBSCO, supporting both coursework and research. Classrooms are modern, equipped with projectors, Wi-Fi, and digital boards that make learning interactive. Students also benefit from seminar halls, computer labs, and group discussion rooms that enhance collaborative learning.

Course Curriculum Overview

there is still scope for improvement in certain areas. For instance, the integration of more industry-driven projects and collaborations with financial institutions could enhance practical exposure. While theoretical knowledge is comprehensive, incorporating more hands-on tools and software such as SAP, Tally ERP, or financial modeling using Excel and Python would make students more industry-ready The MBA Finance curriculum at Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology (VJIT) offers a well-balanced blend of theoretical concepts and practical learning, making it a strong foundation for students aspiring to build careers in the financial sector. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of core financial principles such as Financial Management, Investment Analysis, Corporate Finance, Financial Derivatives, Banking, and Risk Management. These subjects were a key factor influencing my decision to choose this program, as they align closely with the current industry trends and requirements of modern finance professionals.
