Ques. Does KIIT University have an entrepreneurship cell? Is it active?

● Top Answer By Rehansh Verma on 16 Jun 21

Ans. According to my friends studying at KIIT, yes, the E-cell is definitely very active and you will have several benefits if you plan to be associated with the KIIT E-cell even if you do not wish to be an entrepreneur: Internships: Every year, annual internship camps are hosted in March where about 30 to 50 different startups offer internships.  You can appear for 3 to 5 of these and can even bag PPOs worth INR 8 to 10 lakhs. Mentorship: Most students in their 20s look for mentorships.  The E-cell is known to have a good network of mentors, be it for carriers or startups.  Many of my friends have personally got good mentorships for their startups. Diversity: The people in the cell are recruited from the School of Technology, School of Management, Biotech as well as Law.  This helps you network with people from different domains.  This will allow you to explore things from different perspectives. Exposure: With the E-cell, you can get in touch with investors, startup founders as well as policy makers.  You will learn a lot from their shared experiences. Network and Team Building: At the E-cell, you will find a lot of like-minded individuals where you will be able to find a co-founder or a team of people to help you sort things out.  With this network, you can even get in touch with prospective investors ready to fund your startup. Skill building: You can even work for startups in your free time. This will help you build your skillset and resume.  Individual attention is provided and many community learning programs are also available.  In conclusion, the E-cell is definitely useful at KIIT and will be helpful to you in many ways.Read more

Ques. What should I choose? CSE from "KIIT University" or IT from "College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar"?

● Top Answer By Kunal Desai on 11 Jun 21

Ans. It is suggested you choose CSE at KIIT University. One of my friends studied there. According to him, there is no comparison between the branch of KIIT CSE and CET.  The companies visiting KIIT include major names such as Microsoft, Amazon, SAP, Dell, Intel, HP.  Placements are one of the things you must check before entering a university. KIIT offers good investments.  The entire academic and non-academic exposure at KIIT is far greater.  The faculty members are qualified from IITs and top NITs. They are skilled and cooperative.  Categories CSE at KIIT University Course Fee 12.91 lakh Course Duration 4 years Placement Percentage 80% Highest CTC 39 LPA Average CTC 10-12 LPA Recruiting Companies Dell, HCL, Infosys, Capgemini, etc. The program applies to CSE, except that in the first semester you have to study biology. KIIT develops practical applications for students as well as the theory of study.Read more

Ques. Which one would you choose for studying law: UPES, Dehradun or KIIT, Bhubaneshwar? Why would you choose it?

● Top Answer By Abhinav Ghose on 26 May 21

Ans. Among the above institutes, KIIT Bhubaneswar is definitely the best choice for law students, considering almost all the factors except the quality of hostels. I will try to give you some idea about both the institute based on what I heard from my friends who attends these two Law School.  KIIT has an excellent reputation. It is older than UPES too. Considering all general aspects like placement, curriculum, facilities, etc, KIIT will surpass UPES. The only thing that UPES will win over is the quality of hostels, which is manageable in KIIT, but far better in UPES. The student crowd at KIIT is definitely better than that of UPES. UPES has a peer group similar to that of Amity.  An essential aspect that affects the decision of students is the proximity of the institute from their homes or the available connectivity between the college and home. Students, who are first time going out of home for study, should try to stay close to their homes and choose institutes accordingly. Considering the placements in law, it totally depends on your inclination towards corporate, individual practice, or the judiciary. KIIT will provide you with the required aptitude for preparation in individual practice or judiciary. But, UPES provides better commercial learning and promotes corporate careers to its students. Another trying that you should consider while choosing an institute is the distance of your hometown and connectivity. If this is your first time staying away from home, it may be wise to choose an institute nearby. All that being said, do consider the above factors and choose the institute that will provide you enough opportunities to explore what you want. Read more

Ques. Who are the best professors at KIIT University?

● Top Answer By Shristi Ganguly on 25 May 21

Ans. One of my friends had passed out of KIIT University back in 2017, so my answer would be based on whatever input I have received from him.  From the Department of Computer Engineering particularly, here is a list of one of the finest teachers present there at KIIT University:  Arup Acharya  Abhik Gorai (Analog & Digital Signals) Chittaranjan Pradhan (Database Management System) Nachiketa Tarasia (Data Structure) Manas Lenka (Computer Networks) Apart from academics, my friend also gave me an additional list of teachers who will boost your morale and give you great motivation, here are some names: Achyuta Samanta (Founder of KIIT) Lalit Vashishtha Sandeep Chatterjee Prachet Bhuyan In order to judge who exactly is the best, you should observe and decide it for yourself. Apart from that, these were some of the finest at KIIT.Read more

Ques. Which is better, IT in IEM, Kolkata or CSE in KIIT?

● Top Answer By Kirshnendu Saha on 24 May 21

Ans. IT in IEM is better than a CSE in KIIT. Be it faculty, the quality of education, the student crowd, everything is much better than SRM, VIT, etc. (basically, any private institute). Don’t judge the institute by rankings, it often fails to depict the quality of an institute.  There are a few things about IEM that you should keep in mind before you decide.  Relatively cheaper fee structure. Better gentry of students is seen at IEM than at KIIT. You would manage to save enough money if you are aiming for higher education due to more affordable course fees.  The placements have a very subjective approach, so just try and work on making your skills better. There is no coding culture at any of these two institutes.  Having said that, the decision entirely depends upon you. But I would insist that IEM is much better and would be a wiser choice than KIIT.Read more

From 6 semester you are eligible for an internship many companies like FICO, high radius which has an office in our college campus, Dell .many startup comes for paid internship then from 7 semesters you day zero start companies which offer package above 5 lakh approx 50 companies then in day 1 all mass recruitment process starts then after in day 2 all core company is coming then if you do not place in any company please don't panic here college bring companies till 8 semesters and after your engineering, you will get 1 year support from training and placement for placement Actually you will alloted one training placement portal in which every day some company post there you just have to apply to appear test and grab the job in computer science and IT almost 95% students placed and if you are core then 70% students placed avg package is 5 lakh and highest is 29 lakh I got placed in 3 companies 1 Birla soft (3.75 LPA) cognizant (4LPA) Verzeo (4.5 LPA) but I choose CAT( 76.25 ) CMAT(94.25) percent.

Remarks :

You just have to appear for the KIITEE test which is free of cost and it's easy as compared to jee mains then in after 14 days results are out and on your rank card everything mentioned related to counselling date and venue you have to reach on that day in campus 6 auditorium where on the large screen according to the rank they call for all branches. Everything is very smooth in the process

Placement Experience :

From the 6th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Companies like Accenture, high radius, cognizant, Wipro, etc visits KIIT for placements. There are also some core companies too which give a visit. The highest package is 11 to 14 lpa.

Remarks :

At first, you have to give an online entrance exam for KIIT UNIVERSITY. Then if you're selected which is very likely you will, you have to go to the university for selecting the domain and once you go there the process is very very smooth and it won't be a problem for anyone just go with the flow.

Placement Experience :

KIIT is known for its placement cell and records. You just have to give your 100% and never worry about the placement issues. The highest package that has been offered since the date is 39LPA and the average package varies from 6-8LPA. A total of 90% of students get placed every year. I'm planning to do MS after my btech degree

Remarks :

I applied for KIITEE last year around February or March. I gave my KIITEE and got through the cut-off marks that were required for taking the CSE branch. The exam was quite moderate, maximum questions were from Ncert. The exam had 120 questions, 40 questions from each physics chemistry, and maths. The admission process is quite smooth. They send you the cut-off marks for each branch and then admission takes place accordingly.

Placement Experience :

From starting of the 4th semester you're eligible for the campus placement. Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, Deloitte, HP, Bosch, Mahindra and Mahindra, TCS and many more. Almost 80% to 90% got placement who opted for placement. Some people go for higher studies so they don't opt for placements.

Remarks :

VIT'S fee structure is according to the marks scored in the entrance exam and it doesn't provide all the facilities which KIIT University provides with fewer fees than VIT and both the universities are almost the same in every field. That's why I opted for KIIT.

Placement Experience :

Campus placements are great. The students are eligible for campus placement from the 7th semester. Approximately 100 companies visited for campus placement in 2017, some of them are Deloitte, Cognizant, Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys, Capgemini, and many more. The current count of the companies visiting for campus placement is 195. The highest package offered in the year 2017 was of 26lac. And the highest package earned in 2020 was 30lac. 85-90% of students get placed every year. I have completed my degree already and I have continued with the company I was placed in.

Remarks :

I had applied at Amity University, Noida. I didn't attend there first because I got the course specialization of my interest in KIIT and secondly because I wanted to be in proximity to my hometown, Kolkata. To apply for B.tech a student should atleast have 60% aggregate in PCM in the 12th board. And then to qualify for the counselling, the student has to take the KIITEE. KIIT has a 3 day counselling session. Students are invited for the counselling in the college campus once they clear the KIITEE.

Remarks :

I was very much keen to pursue my Btech from Kalinga Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar as the institute was very popular across the state for its various good aspects such as academic excellence, rigorous curriculum, versatile faculty members, student-driven campus, amazing alumni network, financial assistance, placement trends, and more. Admission for BTech programme is done based on marks obtained in class 12th and an entrance examination KIITEE (KIIT Entrance Examination) conducted by the institute. Students should have mandatorily studied PCMB with 60% aggregate marks.

Placement Experience :

The institute has a dedicated placement cell which is committed towards enabling the students to fit the demands of the job market. They organise various events and fests throughout the year so that the students get placed under reputed organizations. The institute also invites prominent companies to hire the eligible students. Last year, more than 4000+ offers were made and top recruiters were Microsoft, Dell, Amazon, Deloitte, SAP, DBSHyundai, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, etc

Remarks :

This college is basically giving more opportunities whether it is in society, internship or placement related. That is why I choose this college, Also here the practical rooms well good enough you will get all type of equiments and machines are also based on modern tech. As this college is investing high practical, you will get all the machines related to mechanical things as I'm from this branch. Also here the placement is good like 80 - 90 % people are getting placed. Also here the campus very much large enough and infrastructure is also awesome of every engg schools. The university is in Bhubaneswar main city so, you will also enjoy the outings with your friends.

Admission :

There is only entrance test for KIIT University I.e. KIITEEE . You have to get the good rank and based on that you will get the branch you want. My rank was 5098 So I did get mechanical which was my preference for CSE I think you should get the rank upto 1500 or 2000.

Placement Experience :

CSE placements in KIIT, BBSR depends a lot on your CGPA and certifications(since 2015). If you have a GPA >9 and you are fluent in English and can solve aptitude, just having good basic knowledge of your subject is enough to get you placed in a good company that offers a package of 5 to 8 LPA. Apart from that, there are mass recruiters which also test your aptitude and basic knowledge and are not that difficult to get into either. Some companies have criteria of a 60 % career throughout while some raise the bar to 65%. So to be on the safe side if you have taken up CSE in KIIT try to maintain your CGPA above 7 and you can sit for 95% of the companies. As most IT companies come to recruit from KIIT, CSE placements in KIIT is good(compared to other branches at least). The average package ranges from 3.5-4 LPA and there are almost 95% placements(taking only those eligible for placement into consideration).

Remarks :

you have to give an entrance exam called KIITEE which will be held in may. The dates are announced in april. Then after qualifying the exam u will get Ur rank card and then u can come to KIIT UNIVERSITY BHUBANESWAR and then attend the councelling on the particular date that is assigned to u based on Ur rankings. we all came for a purpose i.e. a good placement with high package. So, I want to tell you that no need to worry about that because lots of top companies visit to recruit with good packages and you can grab the opportunity but you need to be prepared for placement. Though the placement of core branches like Civil/Mechanical/Electrical is limited but in other branches, it is quite good.

Placement Experience :

From 6th semester end onwards students generally become eligible for placement mostly being internship cum ppo offers The internship can start from 1st yr also if you are skilled enough so thats no issue Some companies that visit here are TCS, Accenture , amazon etc etc cant write here all but you can see it on the college website , all companies are mentioned there. Highest package goes to 27 to 28 lpa and avg package ranges around 3.5 to 4 lakhs Lpa. Although 100 percent placement thing is no more in kiit but the TNP department of kiit makes sure that no student is left unplaced. Even in this pandemic kiit managed to get about 95 % + placement and had a record. My plans after getting the Btech degree is to either opt in a software or IT job or pursue for higher education, like mba or something similar by either clearing gate or cat.

Remarks :

The quality of education is very high. One of the most important aspects of KIIT is the level of education imparted from highly skilled facilities from IITs and NIITs. The relevance can be seen from the example that kiit was the first college to start with online education and completing the semester by taking online examination. The admision process is quite simple. There is no registration fees which is a major boost for all familes specially in this pandemic situation .Reason for preferring this college is the wide reputation of Kiit all over India, its beautiful Campus , amazing college life , 100 percent ragging free campus and much more . And being in this college for 2 yrs now , i can give a surety that it has much more to offer than what i have mentioned. There are articles all over places giving the reviews about kiit and they are all true eg being college dunia.Campusdunia etc etc .One bad aspects of college i would like to mention ( they give too much assignments lol )

Placement Experience :

The campus placements here are very good companies like Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart, Robert Bosch, and many more come for on-campus placements. Thanks to the training and placement department who work day and night to train the students and find their dream job. The highest package provided in 2020 was by adobe of 40lpa. The placements start from the 6th semester itself and offer internship and PPO opportunities.

Remarks :

The college provides a very good environment to study in and has very good placement records among all the private universities in Odisha. The college provides a student-friendly environment. The faculties over here are very helpful, you can ask your doubts related to subjects anytime and the faculties will be rather happy to explain to you and they don't have egos like other professors of NITs and IITs. The college provides the latest state of the art infrastructure and most importantly laptops to every student which I being a student of computer science feel a very essential need that every student must have.
