University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Since I did my graduation in English. So it is purely based on individual experience. The faculty is not that good in the English department. They need to improve the faculty as well as the teaching methods. They need to make it more interesting. And there was no regularity of classes held. Yes, some of the proffessors were friendly, and helpful in everyway possible.

Generally from 5th semester, the placements started taking place and companies such as Accenture, Wipro, TCS were the companies who visited the campus and made 2-3 offers. The percentage of students getting placed was around 70-80%. I am now preparing for MBA after the degree.

I choose zoology honours. It's a very helpful course for students in future. In future you will get a job in forest or zoo etc. you also persuade PhD for research in this perticular subject. If you love animals then definitely try this course. You will love this subject. Our college has good laboratory and good professor in this perticular course. They will help you . According me 3rd 4th 5th and 6th sem is perspectively tough for students and 1st and 2nd sem quite easy but it depends on students.

The course curriculum is very good the teachers were the best the college library is filled with the course related reference books. The professors are supportive and will guide you to the fullest. I was inspired by the course long time back and Rani bilra is well known for its courses

Well, the faculty is very good, but according to the new education policy students need to study many types of subjects and that kinda makes the whole thing hectic. All the faculty members are very welcoming and friendly. Practical lab experiences are really good, and the proper availability of instruments required makes the students' experience better. But sometimes the classes don't commence maintaining the schedule so that is needed to check from their side. The library experience is so good.

Curriculum is semester based. However the curriculum is not relevant in today's world. Too much theoretical and doesn't make anyone employment ready. Teaching methods are old-school with no improvement for the last 50 gears. Exam schedule is not regular and pretty late which poses difficulty to get into other institutes for higher studies.

I choose this course because of my passion. I am very passionate about art and craft and design to be specific. These force curriculum provided every kind of aspect that I wanted to pursue all the subjects of this course are very much practical based as this course prioritise practical knowledge over bookish knowledge. The frequency and timing of exams are very much punctual and strict. The professors and their teaching methods are very good and they are like our inspirations.

once semester is of 6 months first internal is taken in the course of 3 months which is of 20 marks and then external exam is taken which is of 80 marks. the difficulty of the paper is average the questions are asked which are taught in the class

My teachers suggest me to take Mathematics honours. And I also wanted to become a scientist from my childhood. I also love to do experiment. So I choose this cource. I heard that here teachers are very good. So I joined this institute. The curriculum prepares me very good to step in real world. There are no such advice to improve, all is previously improved. There are total 6 semesters in our cource. Per year 4 exams are held, 2 mid-sem exams and 2 end-sem exams i.e. all year 4exams are held. The exams are too tough and few common questions we can find.

I'm BA psychology and I love my course here!! The faculty especially is really dedicated and in terms of practicality it's very up to date with then labs and instruments if you are interested in that. Even though maintanence is a slight issue there as it is a government college there is issues with the maintanence but to be honest the faculty makes up for it
