University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

We do not have a placement cell in our college. Students search for jobs through online forums or by visiting the companies' headquarters. However, teachers in our college give us proper industrial exposure.

Sivanath Sastri College (also known as Heramba Chandra College) is very reputed and well known is Kolkata. The BCOM general and honours courses is by far the best in Kolkata. Location is very good and all means of transportation is available always.

We do not have a proper Placement Cell yet in the college. However, the college arranges proper Counselling Sessions and training for the 3rd year students to fill the gap. Workshops and seminars are also provided from time to time.

We do have a placement cell in our college. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is one of the most prominent companies coming to the college as the recruiters. Each year, 15-20 students get recruited by TCS.

Our college is the best. If you can't believe my words, it simply doesn't matter. Then, please go and have a visit of our college. You'll get all of your answers.

First I applied to this college on the college website. Then I waited for the merit list to come once the merit list came the college instructed to come for counselling. We did our counselling and then we were sent to the office for our admissions charges to be paid. Once the whole process was done we were given date for orientation. Then we attended orientation after that a departmental orientation was organised;after all these we were asked to join classes from next week. I choose this college because it was near to my house and I needed an evening college.

The college infrastructure is good along with many facilities like lift library sports equipment but the quality of education can be improved and the area where the college is dirty.

I was admitted after seeing the merit list my HS number and admission merit list wise then I see the merit list and admission to the college. I was admitted with geography subject. after verifying my result they give me a slip and date and go to that date and admission. after admission they told me the college date.

Management is very helpful and is always ready to help the students regarding anything.

Nothing is perfect in the world. But for me. my college has fulfilled more or less all the dreams I have ever dreamt of college life. I would highly recommend the newcomers to look forward to this college.
