University of Calcutta Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The students of the 6th semester are eligible for campus placements. The placement cell started in 2004 and it has successfully provided placement to a large section of graduates over the years. Initially the companies are invited to take part in campus recruitment drive . Thereafter the interested students register with the placement cell and participate in the campus drive. Some of the major companies which visited in the session 2023-24 are TCS , Amazon, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd, British Telecom, Genpact, Crizac Pvt Ltd, Glenmark Life sciences Ltd, etc. In total 150 students sat for placements and more than 60% got placed. The highest package offered was 3 lakhs pa and the average package was 2 lakhs pa. A lot of students who opt for higher studies and research prefer not sitting for placements. I did not appear for placements as I have applied for further studies in Masters in other colleges.

My course is Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Honours So that, I will learn many aspects of the commerce line and more of how to save and rightly use the money for future. My course gives me that idea of business ideas also, so that I will start a business of my own.

I love biology and seeking for better field in it. Curriculum has no role in my academic pursuits actually. I have no suggestions. Exams will always seems like difficult if u don't prepare yourself for that.

The college conducts campus placement drive annualy for all its students along with it the students who have archieved good marks in there exam more chance of landing a good job in big companies. The best thing about the placement is that students are not judge entirely on grades. Students having a CGPA of 6.0 are also got placement. I have planned to do MBA in Finance after the degree.

The course curriculum is okay. Their are certain topics that should be taught in Msc or BSc 3 year but they teach them earlier. The difficulty level is not that hard. The topic distribution should be improved.

As per my experience , it is best to get a job after passing 6th semester. Both for learning & knowledge. It would be a little average to Join a job with zero knowledge. I already got the degree and now am preparing for Masters.

The course curriculum provides a vast knowledge about accounting and finance for which I decided to choose this course. It prepares us for the real world applications really well. The college should try to adapt some modern technologies for teaching.

I choose my own decission there was nothing interesting particular for this college .course fees are not real they charged so many extra charges from student which i dislike mostly .like library fees is mandatory for everyone but there is no course relate suitable book in library

The reputation of the college, and reviews from senior students influenced me to take admission to Bethune college. The college environment changed me a lot, my personality got improved, I got to know more about life, my perspective about life developed. I think demonstration method should be introduced it improves the teaching. The exam timings got affected for the election's and questions were bit intellectual but helped to improve writing skill.

From the beginning I was drawn towards studying something unique and effective in towards world. I am not disrespecting other subjects just I wanted to write and make the world aware of the darkness that surrounds the other side of the world that all people will eventually ignores. Journalism and Mass communication is a broad and beautiful subject ,as it consists of many aspects as radio television advertising Pr sectors and many more
