After CAT, IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) runs its own selection. Shortlists for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) come tentatively in the second week of January 2027. Final offers follow in the second week of April 2027.

IIM Ahmedabad AWT and PI Dates 2027

IIMA publishes the AWT and PI shortlist on its website tentatively in the second week of January 2027. It also emails call letters to shortlisted candidates. The shortlist comes only after CAT results are out.

AWT and PI Cities

IIMA holds the AWT and PI in six cities. These are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. Each candidate picked two of these cities in the CAT form.

Example: A Pune-based candidate who chose Mumbai and Bengaluru gets a slot in one of them. The call letter states the city, date and reporting time.

How the Interview Round Counts

The AWT and PI round carries heavy weight in the final score. The PI counts for 50 percent and the AWT for 10 percent. The remaining 40 percent comes from the composite score used for shortlisting.

So a strong CAT percentile alone does not secure a seat. The six to eight weeks between the call and the interview matter most.

IIM Ahmedabad Final Result and Offer Dates 2027

Candidates who appear for the AWT and PI can check the admission status tentatively in the second week of April 2027. IIMA shows the result on its website and sends offer letters to selected candidates. Some candidates go on the waiting list at the same time.

Selected candidates complete the acceptance formalities tentatively by the first week of May 2027. A candidate who misses this step risks losing the offer. Waiting-list offers depend on how many selected candidates accept.

Important: IIMA keeps Rs. 1,000 as a processing fee from any refund. The balance goes back to the same account used for payment.

Degree Completion Deadlines for Final-Year Students

Final-year students can apply and join provisionally. But they must meet two fixed deadlines. The table below lists both.

The certificate comes from the Principal, Head of Department, Registrar or Director. It must be issued on or before June 30, 2027. The final result may still be pending at that point.

Example: A B.Com student whose final exams end in May 2027 can join. The college certificate must reach IIMA by June 30, 2027. The marksheet and degree must follow by December 31, 2027.

IIM Ahmedabad PGP-FABM Important Dates 2027

The PGP in Food and Agri-business Management (PGP-FABM) follows the same CAT 2026 route. Its shortlist also comes tentatively in the second week of January 2027. The AWT and PI run in the same six cities.

Offers and the waiting list come tentatively in the second week of April 2027. One date differs from the PGP. PGP-FABM candidates complete acceptance formalities by the first or second week of May 2027.

IIM Ahmedabad PGPX Important Dates 2027-28

The one-year MBA-PGPX for working professionals does not use CAT. It takes a GMAT or GRE score and runs in two application rounds. Candidates can apply only once across both rounds.
