What is NIFT 2026 Spot Round?

The NIFT spot round is a last-mile admission exercise held after the main counselling rounds to allocate seats that remain vacant across NIFT campuses and programmes. Students who registered for counselling but did not receive a seat, or those who wish to explore remaining vacancies in preferred programmes, are eligible to participate. Seat allotment in the spot round is based on merit and programme preference declared at the time of spot round registration. The allotment is final — there is no further upgrade or transfer round. Students must confirm their seat by reporting to the allotted campus on July 17, 2026 with all required documents and completing the fee payment formalities.

  • Prepare the fee instrument in advance: If the allotment letter requires a Demand Draft, get it made at least one day before reporting day to avoid last-minute banking delays.
  • Do not carry altered documents: Any tampered, forged, or incomplete document will lead to immediate cancellation of admission and may invite legal action.
  • Check the portal the night before: NIFT may publish last-minute updates on reporting timings, venue, or document requirements at the official admissions portal before the event.
