Ques. Is there a chance of conversion of an IMT Ghaziabad PGDM call? I have a GMAT score of 660, 10th - 91.2%, and 12th - 87.6%.

● Top Answer By Swastika Bera on 09 Jun 21

Ans. Yes, there is a chance of getting admission in IMT Ghaziabad as your 10th and 12th grades are exceptionally good. But the main concern is for the graduation percentage as it is an important criterion for the selection. The exam of GMAT is more significant than that of CAT and is also accepted throughout the world.  IMT follows the rules of NIRF, hence gives GMAT priority over CAT.  It follows all the guidelines of NIRF ranging from admissions to placements.  So, one can also score around 70-80% on GMAT for better performance and guaranteed admission. The cut-off of the best government colleges is at least 60% and for the private colleges, it is about 50% where IMT is included for both 10th and 12th classes.  But in the real scenario, no student in these institutes is below 70%. For the reservation category and to promote gender diversity, there are 55% seats reserved for the male candidates and the rest 45% for the female candidates. From the scores, 45% is included from the GMAT. Of the rest 55%, 10 % are from academics, 25% from the GD/WAT, and 20% from the personal interview or PI. Prepare well for the GD and PI. Academics is your own zone.Read more

Ques. Which is better to opt for, XIMB RM or XISS Finance?

● Top Answer By Shreya Manna on 09 Jun 21

Ans. According to my friends studying at XIMB RM, the college is not called XIMB RM anymore. The last batch to pass from the college with this college name was the 2015-2017 batch. It has been renamed to Xavier School of Rural Management (XSRM) under the umbrella of Xavier University, Bhubaneshwar. This split has not had any impact on the branding.  If you are concerned with the quality of education and faculty, let me assure you that those have remained the same.  When it comes to rural management, you should know that it is more like a product differentiation from an actual MBA.  It is also often known as an MBA+ where you will get to explore and gain knowledge on subjects like sociology, development, planning in rural areas and many other fields. This will open up a number of opportunities for you to explore in the development sector which you perhaps would not be able to explore in other MBA courses. Categories XSRM Course Fee 13.8 lakh Highest CTC 13.2 - 17 LPA Average CTC 8-9 LPA Recruiting Companies Amul, Godrej Agrovet Limited, ITC Limited, Mapro Foods, ADM Agro Industries, Tolaram Group, etc. As far as XISS Finance is concerned, you should get in touch with a postgraduate student from that college to get to know more about it. As of now, I would suggest you go for XSRM.Read more

Ques. What will my life be like in 10 years if I get an MBA in marketing or finance from SIBM/SIIB, Pune?

● Top Answer By Rishabh Pathak on 08 Jun 21

Ans. By understanding the perspective of your question, there shall not be a huge change if you only get an MBA done. The thing that determines it is the choices you are going to make like the firm you choose to work in, your expected salary or location or role, the work environment, and various other choices.  In 10 years, if you continue working hard, then you will probably have made 2 or 5 years of promotion. You can also simultaneously expect a major salary hike. However, considering several drawbacks such as home loans, personal expenses, family expenditure, annual vacations, and fee structure of institutions, you are expected to live a very grounded life.  You should be sure enough about what you are passionate about during pursuing MBA. Join a job sector that can lead you to a good state.  If necessary, you should also build an alternate income for other essential factors.  You should also begin pro-bono consulting during the weekends. You can also consult a startup or can choose to become a mentor or adviser or helper too. Thus, your life 10 years from now will not however result only if you particularly get an MBA from a B-school, but will take into account the choices you have made, and the hard work you were to undertake.Read more
