ACET 2026 (Actuarial Common Entrance Test) is conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) as the gateway entrance test for students who wish to pursue a career in actuarial science in India. The ACET June 2026 exam was held on June 13, 2026, and the result has been declared today on June 23, 2026 on the official IAI portal at actuariesindia.org. Candidates who pass ACET can register as IAI student members and begin their journey towards the Fellowship of IAI (FIAI).

• Result: ACET June 2026 result is declared on June 23, 2026. Log in to the official IAI portal at actuariesindia.org with your registered email and password to check your pass/fail status. In the January 2026 session, 965 out of 1,099 candidates passed — a pass rate of 87.81%.
• IAI Student Membership: Candidates who passed ACET June 2026 can now apply for IAI student membership to start the actuarial fellowship pathway. The annual student membership fee is approximately ₹5,750. Your ACET result is valid for 3 years from the date of declaration, giving you until June 2029 to enrol.
• ACET December 2026: The next ACET session is expected in December 2026. Registration typically opens around 3 months before the exam — candidates should watch actuariesindia.org from September 2026 onwards for the official registration announcement.
• Reattempt: Candidates who did not pass the ACET June 2026 exam can reattempt in December 2026. There is no limit on the number of attempts and registration is completely free. You need to score at least 50 out of 100 to pass.

What is ACET 2026?

ACET stands for Actuarial Common Entrance Test. It is a computer-based qualifying test conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) for candidates who want to enter the actuarial science profession in India. Passing ACET qualifies you for IAI student membership — the first step towards becoming a fully qualified Fellow Actuary (FIAI).

IAI conducts ACET multiple times a year. In 2026, the exam has been held in January and June sessions, with a December 2026 session expected later this year. ACET is purely a qualifying exam — IAI declares results as pass or fail only. Individual scores are not published for any candidate.

IAI made ACET registration completely free from May 2024 onwards, removing a major financial barrier for students who want to explore actuarial science. Before this change, candidates paid an application fee for every attempt. Since the fee waiver, the number of candidates registering for each session has grown.

The exam is home-based and monitored by remote proctoring technology. You do not need to travel to any exam centre. You can appear from your home as long as you have a stable internet connection, a laptop or desktop with a webcam, and a private, quiet room.

ACET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The ACET 2026 eligibility criteria are straightforward. Unlike most Indian entrance exams, ACET has very few restrictions on who can appear. Students from all academic backgrounds — Science, Commerce, Arts, and Engineering — are welcome.

Educational Qualification

• You must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board
• English must be one of the subjects in your Class 12 or equivalent examination
• Students awaiting their Class 12 results can also appear, provided they are studying subjects relevant to actuarial science: Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or Management
• There is no minimum percentage requirement in Class 12
• Graduation or post-graduation is not required — a Class 12 pass is sufficient to appear

Academic Stream and Background

• Any academic stream is eligible: Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering, MBA, or any other background
• Candidates with a background in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or Engineering tend to perform better
• However, there is no formal academic background restriction — any candidate who meets the Class 12 criterion can register for ACET
• Working professionals switching to actuarial science are also eligible — no age-based or career-stage barrier applies

Age and Attempt Limit

• There is no minimum or maximum age limit for ACET 2026
• There is no upper limit on the number of attempts — you can reattempt as many times as needed across multiple sessions and years
• Candidates who have already passed ACET but have not yet registered as IAI student members retain their valid result for 3 years from the declaration date

If you have already passed ACET and registered as an IAI student member, you do not need to appear again. Once enrolled, you can directly register for the Core Principles (CS/CM/CB) actuarial exams without sitting ACET a second time.

ACET 2026 Application Process

The ACET 2026 application process is fully online. You register on the IAI candidate portal, fill in your details, and submit the form. Since May 2024, registration is completely free — there is no application fee for any session in 2026.

ACET 2026 Application Fee

IAI removed the ACET application fee in May 2024 to make actuarial science more accessible to students from all financial backgrounds across India. Before this, candidates had to pay a fee for every attempt, which discouraged some students from reattempting after a failed session.

ACET 2026 Syllabus

The ACET 2026 syllabus covers five subjects: Mathematics, Statistics, Data Interpretation, English, and Logical Reasoning. The Mathematics and Statistics syllabus is broadly at the Class 11 and 12 level — you do not need advanced university-level mathematics to clear ACET 2026.

The ACET 2026 admit card is released on the official IAI candidate portal around 7 to 10 days before the exam date. For the ACET June 2026 session, the admit card was released in the first week of June 2026, ahead of the June 13 exam. You must keep the admit card accessible on exam day for identity verification by the remote proctor.
