    AP LAWCET Eligibility Criteria is set by Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ananthapuramu on behalf of APSCHE. It states that an Indian National satisfying local/ non-local status along with academic and age requirements are eligible to register for the exam.

    • AP LAWCET 2020 will be conducted for 5-year and 3 year LLB programs in the first week of May. across 16 exam centres in AP.
    • The eligibility for both the programs are different in terms of age limit and minimum marks in qualifying examination.
    • When acquinted with the eligibility norms, candidates can fill their AP LAWCET 2020 Registration form which will be released in the 2nd week of March 2020.

    The following eligibility criteria are applicable to applicants of both programs- 5-year LLB and 3-year LLM.

    On the basis of Residence (Domicile)

    • An Indian citizen who is a native resident of Andhra Pradesh
    • Indian citizen and whose one or both parents were domiciles of Andhra Pradesh
    • Indian citizen and whose both or any one of the parents had studied Andhra Pradesh

    On the basis of Age Limit

    For the state-level law entrance examination, the authorities have set no upper age limit for a candidate to apply online.

    3 Year LLB A candidate should be a minimum of 21 years of age at the time of the exam.
    5 Year LLBCandidates should be minimum of 17-years of age at the time of the exam. 

    Number of Attempts in AP LAWCET 

    • A salient feature of AP LAWCET is that there is no limit on the number of attempts. Candidates can take the state level law entrance exam as many times as they want.
    • It is held annually, candidates hailing from Andhra Pradesh who are not satisfied with their performance in other national level law entrance exams like CLAT, have a good opportunity to score in AP LAWCET.

    AP LAWCET Eligibility 2020: 5-year LLB Program

    Law aspirants willing to pursue a 5-year LLB program from APSCHE must fulfil the following eligibility criteria.

    • Candidates are required to have passed Class XII or equivalent exam from any recognized state or central board.
    • Minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam is needed for students of General/OBC category to appear for the exam.
    • Candidates of SC/ST category are required to have a minimum of 40% aggregate in the qualifying exam.

    Any candidate wishing to pursue masters in law from APSCHE need to meet the criteria mentioned here.

    • Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration from any discipline and from a State or Central University.
    • Candidates belonging to General/ OBC category must have a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam
    • Candidates of SC/ST category are required to have a minimum of 40% aggregate in the qualifying exam.
    • Candidates who are in the final year of college can apply for the program if they satisfy other eligibility requirements.

    Note: There is a relaxation of 5% of marks for 3 year / 5 year Law course in favour of the candidates belonging to SC / ST and relaxation of 3% of marks for candidates belonging to other backward classes.

    AP LAWCET Eligibility 2020: LLM Program

    • A candidate must have completed a graduation degree in 10+2+3 format.
    • The minimum qualifying percentage is 45 per cent marks in the qualifying examination.
    • In case a candidate does not have a graduation degree, then they should have passed an additional degree/ post-graduation with 45% marks.
    • Candidates of reserved category of SC/ST category must have 40% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.

    It is necessary to have a clear idea on requirements to appear for AP LAWCET 2020. As it is a Andhra Pradesh state entrance exam apart from academic specifications, domicile of the candidates matter. 

    In addition there are two different LLB programs offered by AP LAWCET, eligibility criteria for both 3 year and 5 year programs differ. Candidates should have a fair idea about the specifications respectively. It will ease the process of filling up the AP LAWCET Application Form.

    What to do after AP LAWCET Eligibility Criteria?

    When done going through eligibility criteria in detail, the next step is to fill the application form. AP LAWCET 2020 applicatiion form are expected to be released by 2nd week of March. 

    • Visit the official website and register using a valid email-Id and Phone number.
    • A user-Id and password will be recieved at the registered email address, candidates have to login again at the official portal using the credentials.
    • One of the first steps to fill the appication form is to submit AP LAWCET registration fee of INR 750.
    • Next, fill in the application form with academic and other details.
    • Take a Print out of the application form for future references.

    Ques. I have a B.tech degree, can i apply for AP LAWCET LLB program?

    Ans. Minimum academic requirement for AP LAWCET is 10+2 for 5 year LLB course and 10+2+3 for 3 year LLB course from any recognised university or college. So B.tech students can surely apply for AP LAWCET if they satisfy the domicile requirements. 

    Ques. What are the minimum marks required for an SC/ST candidate to appear in AP LAWCET 2020?

    Ans. Minimum marks required by SC/ST candidates to appear in AP LAWCET is atleast 40% marks in the qualifying examination. 

    Ques. Is there any relaxation in minimum marks required for OBC candidates to appear in AP LAWCET?

    Ans. Yes, minimum marks required by candidates in qualifying examination to appear for AP LAWCET 2020 is 45%. However candidates belonging to OBC category get a relaxation of 3% in the marks. 

    Ques. I have completed my Intermediate( 10+2) through open learning (distant education). Can i apply for AP LAWCET 2020?

    Ans. There is no restriction on the mode of education, just the university/college must be recognised by the conducting authorities. Candidates fulfilling minimum academic and domicile requirements are eligible to apply for the AP LAWCET. 

    Ques. I am in my final year of Graduation, can i apply for AP LAWCET 2020?

    Ans. Yes candidates appearing in their final year examination are eligible to apply for AP LAWCET. They have to produce their passing certificate at the time of admission. 

    Ques. What is the age limit to appear for AP LAWCET 2020?

    Ans. Minimum Age limit to appear for 3 year LLB course in AP LAWCET is 17 years, while for 5 year course is 21 years. 

    Ques. What are number of attempts to appear in AP LAWCET?

    Ans. There is no limit on the number of attempts in AP LAWCET, candidates can appear as many times in the law entrance exam.

    Hi Rakesh, yes, you are eligible to apply for this exam as there is no upper age limit to apply for AP-LAWCET.
