(b) Copper coins are immersed in silver nitrate. What changes will take place in the coin and color of the solution? Inscribe a balanced chemical equation of the reaction.

Ans. Firstly, Carbonate ore:

(b) Copper being further reactive than silver will move silver from silver nitrate solution and there shall be deposition of silver on the copper coin. The color of the solution will go blue.

Ques. Name the oxidizing agent used for the change of ethanol to ethanoic acid. Differentiate between ethanol and ethanoic acid based on (i) litmus test, (ii) reaction with sodium hydrogen carbonate.

Ans. Alkaline potassium permanganate or Acidified potassium dichromate.

(i)Ethanol does not affect litmus paper. Ethanoic acid will go blue litmus ‘ paper red.

(ii) Ethanol would not react with sodium hydrogen carbonate. Ethanoic acid must give brisk effervescence due to colorless and odorless carbon dioxide gas.

Ques. Na, Mg, and Al are the elements having three valence electrons correspondingly. Which of these elements (a) has the biggest atomic radius (b) is slightest reactive? Explain your answer by stating the reason.

Ans. (a) Na has the major atomic radius because it has 11 protons and 11

electrons, thus the slightest effective nuclear charge.

(b) Al is minimum reactive because it has the least atomic size due to 13 protons and 13 electrons, it has a better effective nuclear charge, hence, cannot lose electrons simply, henceforth it is least reactive.

Ques. In single-celled organisms, diffusion is adequate to see all their necessities of food, exchange of gases, or elimination of wastes but not in the case of multicellular organisms. Explain

Ans. Unicellular organisms can captivate sufficient oxygen because of its whole contact with the atmosphere, but in multicellular organisms, the rate of absorption and diffusion develops less because all cells are not in direct contact with the atmosphere. Multicellular organisms need a superior amount of oxygen to endure life procedures that cannot be pleased by the procedure of diffusion.

Ques. State in brief the variations that take place in a fertilized egg (zygote) till the birth of the child in the human female reproductive method. What transpires to the egg when it is not fertilized?

Ans. Req = 20 + 30 = 50 ?

Both 20 ?and 30 ?= I =10/50 = 0.2 A
