As of September 2026, the official GVSAT 2027 notification has not been released; the 2027 cycle is expected to open in December 2026 or January 2027.

  • Notification: GVSAT 2027 official notification is expected in December 2026 or January 2027. In 2025, the notification and registration were opened together in January 2025. Keep checking gyanvihar.org from December 2026.
  • Application Form: GVSAT 2027 application form is expected to open in January 2027 at gyanvihar.org. The application fee was INR 350 for all categories in the previous cycle, with payment via net banking, UPI, debit card, or demand draft.
  • Exam Date: GVSAT 2027 Phase 1 (UG) is expected in the last week of May 2027 and Phase 2 (PG) in the last week of June 2027. In 2024, Phase 1 was held on May 28 and Phase 2 on June 30.

What is GVSAT 2027?

GVSAT stands for Gyan Vihar Scholarship and Admission Test. It is conducted by Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU), a private university established in 2008 in Jaipur, Rajasthan under Act No. 16 of 2008. SGVU holds a NAAC A+ grade and is recognized by UGC, AICTE, NBA, PCI, NCTE, and the Bar Council of India.

GVSAT is a university-level entrance-cum-scholarship test held every year in two phases. Phase 1 covers UG programs (typically in May) and Phase 2 covers PG programs (typically in June). The exam is available in both online CBT and offline pen-and-paper modes across 38 cities in India. Admission to all UG and PG programs at SGVU goes through GVSAT. SGVU also accepts CUET UG scores for UG admissions — but GVSAT is the only route to earn a merit scholarship.

The exam has 120 objective-type questions for 240 marks with no negative marking. The subjects covered are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology (based on the program applied for), and English Proficiency. The entire paper is in English. More than 4,000 students join SGVU every year through this process, with around 85% coming from outside Rajasthan.

What the GVSAT 2027 Scorecard Shows

  • Candidate name, roll number, and application number
  • Total marks scored out of 240
  • Section-wise scores (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English)
  • Scholarship eligibility status based on marks scored
  • Merit rank (if applicable)

After the result, SGVU releases the merit list. Candidates on the merit list are called for counselling. Your GVSAT score determines your scholarship tier — so high marks matter not just for admission but for fee savings across all four years of your program.

The GVSAT result is declared only on the official SGVU website. The university does not rely solely on SMS or email for result notification — always verify your result directly on gyanvihar.org.

GVSAT 2027 Scholarship Slabs

The biggest benefit of appearing for GVSAT is the scholarship it unlocks. SGVU distributes Rs. 10 Crore in merit scholarships to students every academic year. The scholarship calculation uses a weighted formula:

  • GVSAT Score — 40% weightage
  • Class 12 or Graduation Marks — 50% weightage
  • Personal Interview — 10% weightage

This means your board exam performance has a greater impact on your scholarship than your GVSAT score itself. Here are the merit scholarship slabs for UG admissions based on Class 12 percentage:

GVSAT 2027 Merit Scholarship Slabs — UG Admissions

Class 12 Percentage Scholarship on Tuition Fee Scholarship Name
97.5% and above 100% Tuition Fee Waiver Shri Suresh Sharma Memorial Fellowship
95% to 97.5% 100% Tuition Fee Waiver Shri Suresh Sharma Memorial Scholarship
92.5% to 95% 50% Tuition Fee Waiver Shri Sunil Sharma Merit Scholarship
90% to 92.5% 40% Tuition Fee Waiver University Merit Scholarship
85% to 90% 20% Tuition Fee Waiver University President Scholarship
75% to 85% 10% Tuition Fee Waiver University Scholarship

Special Category Scholarships at SGVU

Apart from the merit slabs above, SGVU also offers named scholarships for specific student groups:

Scholarship Name Who Can Apply Benefit
Acharya Purushottam Uttam Fellowship 25 seats — needy and deserving students Full exemption — tuition, exam, enrollment, books, and boarding fees (75% attendance mandatory)
Smt. Kamla Devi Gender Equality Scholarship Female students with 75%+ in Class 12 20% tuition fee waiver (10% for 70–75%)
Jay Prakash Narayan Scholarship Migrant students from Bihar; minimum 60% marks Merit-based; on-campus hostel stay required
Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship SC/ST/OBC-BPL students from Rajasthan; minimum 60% marks Merit-based tuition fee waiver
SGVUAA Alumni Scholarship SGVU alumni joining MBA, M.Sc., MCA, M.Tech, M.Pharm, or Ph.D. 25% tuition fee waiver

The scholarship covers tuition fees only — hostel charges, exam fees, and other institutional fees are not included. Scholarships are renewed every year based on minimum academic performance and attendance requirements that will be specified in the official 2027 prospectus.

Since Class 12 marks carry 50% weight in the scholarship calculation, doing well in your board exams matters just as much as your GVSAT score when it comes to fee savings.

GVSAT 2027 Cutoff and Merit List

GVSAT does not follow a competitive seat-based cutoff like JEE Main or NEET. Since SGVU is a private university with open admissions for most programs, the primary use of the GVSAT score is to determine the scholarship tier — not to gate admission outright. However, a minimum qualifying score is required to be placed on the merit list and invited for counselling.

How the GVSAT Merit List Works

After each phase’s result, SGVU publishes a merit list on gyanvihar.org. Candidates above the qualifying threshold are placed on this list and called for counselling. The merit list is based on:

  • Total marks scored in GVSAT 2027 out of 240
  • Class 12 marks, used as a secondary criterion or tie-breaker
  • Program applied for — separate merit lists for different programs
  • Phase — Phase 1 and Phase 2 have separate merit lists

Reference: Previous Year Phase-wise Exam Data

Year Phase 1 Exam Date Phase 2 Exam Date Merit List Status
2024 May 28, 2024 June 30, 2024 (Declared)
2027 Last Week of May 2027 (Expected) Late June / July 2027 (Expected) To be announced

SGVU does not publish a percentile-based cutoff publicly. Candidates are advised to aim for the highest possible score. Higher GVSAT marks improve your merit rank and also move you up to a better scholarship slab — so every mark directly affects your fee saving over the full course duration.

GVSAT 2027 Counselling Process

After the merit list is published, SGVU calls shortlisted candidates for counselling. GVSAT 2027 counselling is expected to begin in July–August 2027 for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 candidates. Counselling is conducted in person at the SGVU campus in Jaipur. No online counselling option has been offered in previous years.

Step-by-Step GVSAT 2027 Counselling Process

  1. Check the merit list — After the result, log in to gyanvihar.org and check whether your name is on the merit list. You will also receive a notification on your registered email or phone number.
  2. Receive the counselling call letter — SGVU notifies shortlisted candidates with the date, time, and venue for counselling.
  3. Pay the seat confirmation amount — Pay INR 15,000 via Demand Draft in favour of Suresh Gyan Vihar University. This amount is adjusted against your first-year fee at the time of final admission.
  4. Attend document verification — Bring all original documents to the counselling venue. The admissions team will verify your eligibility and academic credentials.
  5. Select your program and specialisation — Based on your merit rank and seat availability, choose your preferred program and specialisation at SGVU.
  6. Pay the remaining admission fee — After seat allocation, pay the remaining fee to confirm your enrollment and secure your seat.

Documents Required at GVSAT 2027 Counselling

  • GVSAT 2027 scorecard (printed copy)
  • Class 10 marksheet and passing certificate — originals and 2 photocopies
  • Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate — originals and 2 photocopies
  • Six passport-size photographs (same specification as application photo)
  • Government photo ID — Aadhaar card, passport, or PAN card
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) from your last institution
  • Migration Certificate (if from a board or state other than Rajasthan)
  • Category certificate if applicable — SC/ST/OBC/PwD
  • Demand Draft of INR 15,000 in favour of Suresh Gyan Vihar University

If you fail to attend counselling on your assigned date, your seat will be given to the next candidate on the merit list. There is no option to reschedule. Carry all original documents in an organised file — SGVU will cancel admission immediately if any document is found to be fake or tampered.

GVSAT 2027 vs Other Admission Routes at SGVU

If you plan to join SGVU, you have more than one admission route. Understanding the difference between GVSAT, CUET UG, and direct admission helps you plan the right strategy:

Criteria GVSAT 2027 CUET UG 2027 Direct Admission
Purpose Admission + Scholarship Admission only Admission only
Scholarship on Tuition Fee Yes — up to 100% No No
Application Fee INR 350 (all categories) INR 650–750 (NTA charges) Nil
Exam Type University-level MCQ (SGVU conducts) National-level MCQ (NTA conducts) No exam required
Programs Covered UG and PG programs at SGVU Select UG programs (B.Tech, BCA, BBA) UG and PG (subject to seat availability)
Application Window January–May / June 2027 February–March 2027 (expected) During SGVU admissions open period
Number of Attempts Two — Phase 1 and Phase 2 Once per year Not applicable

If you are planning to join SGVU, you should appear for both GVSAT 2027 and CUET UG 2027. CUET UG gives you wider admission options across many universities, while GVSAT is the only way to earn a tuition fee scholarship at SGVU. Direct admission is the simplest route but comes with no scholarship benefit — you pay the full fee.

Preparation Tips for GVSAT 2027

GVSAT is not as tough as JEE Main or NEET. With 2–3 months of focused preparation built on your Class 12 foundation, you can score well and earn a significant scholarship. Here are subject-wise and strategy tips to help you prepare effectively.

Physics

  • Mechanics and Electrostatics are typically the highest-weightage topics — prioritise these first
  • Practice numericals from NCERT and H.C. Verma’s Concepts of Physics for deeper problem-solving
  • Make a one-page formula sheet and revise it daily — Physics formulas are easy to forget under exam pressure

Chemistry

  • For Physical Chemistry, focus on Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, and Thermodynamics
  • In Organic Chemistry, focus on reaction mechanisms and named reactions (Aldol Condensation, Cannizzaro, etc.)
  • For Inorganic Chemistry, NCERT is enough — read p-block and d-block chapters carefully

Mathematics

  • Calculus and Coordinate Geometry carry the most marks in GVSAT — spend extra time here
  • Practice at least 20–25 problems daily from Algebra and Trigonometry to build speed
  • Use R.D. Sharma or Arihant’s Objective Mathematics for MCQ-style GVSAT practice

Biology

  • Genetics, Human Physiology, and Cell Biology are the highest-scoring chapters in GVSAT Biology
  • NCERT Biology (Class 11 and 12) is more than enough — many questions appear directly from NCERT text
  • Draw and label diagrams while studying — GVSAT may include MCQs based on biological diagrams

English Proficiency

  • Build vocabulary daily — learn 10 new synonyms and antonyms from a standard word list each day
  • Practice reading comprehension passages from newspapers to improve speed
  • Revise tenses, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions — these appear most frequently in GVSAT English

General Exam Strategy

  • Since there is no negative marking, attempt all 120 questions — even guessing carries zero risk
  • Complete easy and familiar questions first, then return to harder ones. This secures your base marks
  • Take at least 4–5 full-length mock tests before the exam. 120 questions in 120 minutes means 1 minute per question — timed practice is essential
  • After each mock test, identify your weak sections and spend extra time on those topics
  • If you choose the online CBT mode, practice on a computer screen — the interface is different from writing on paper, and unfamiliarity can slow you down
  • Apply early — the GVSAT 2027 form is expected to open in January 2027. Early applicants get more exam city choices
