• Counselling Registration: JELET 2026 counselling registration is expected in August 2026. Keep your rank card, qualifying diploma or degree marksheets, category certificate (if applicable), and passport-size photographs ready before the notification is released.

What is JELET 2026?

JELET stands for Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry. It is a state-level entrance test conducted every year by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). The exam offers lateral entry — meaning direct admission into the 2^nd year (3^rd semester) — of four-year B.E./B.Tech and B.Pharm programs at universities, government engineering colleges, and self-financing institutes across West Bengal.

JELET 2026 targets three groups of students: diploma holders in Engineering or Technology who want to upgrade to a full degree, B.Sc. or B.Voc. degree holders with Mathematics at the Class 12 level, and Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) holders. JELET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

WBJEEB has set specific eligibility conditions for JELET 2026. You must meet the nationality, qualifying degree, and minimum marks requirements to be eligible for the exam and for counselling. Nationality

Only Indian citizens can apply for JELET 2026. NRI and foreign national candidates are not eligible.

Age Limit

Qualifying Degree and Minimum Marks

Jadavpur University has higher eligibility requirements than other JELET institutes. For JU, General/EWS candidates need at least 60% in their qualifying diploma or degree, and SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD candidates need at least 45%. Home State and Seat Quotas

JELET is a West Bengal state-level exam. Most seats in participating colleges are filled under the Home State (HS) quota for candidates who studied in West Bengal institutions. Some colleges may also have seats available under the All India (AI) quota. Your applicable quota is reflected in the category mentioned on your JELET rank card.

JELET 2026 Application Form

WBJEEB released the JELET 2026 application form on March 19, 2026. The registration was entirely online through the official WBJEEB portal. The original deadline was extended to April 11, 2026. WBJEEB released the JELET 2026 admit card on June 5, 2026 — eight days before the exam. Candidates downloaded it from the official WBJEEB portal by entering their application number and password.
