JIPMER PG 2020 Application Form Correction (open), Registration Dates, Fees and Process

    JIPMER PG Registration window was extended till May 18, 2020. Candidates can fill the application form in online mode only at the official website – jipmer.edu.in. Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research or commonly referred to as the JIPMER released an official notice on April 15, 2020, stating that – “..the last date of online application of entrance examination for MD/MS, PDCC/PF, MDS courses for July 2020 session has been rescheduled due to existing situation of nationwide lockdown because of COVID-19 pandemic.”

    Latest: All the successfully registered candidates for JIPMER PG 2020 can edit their edit and re-select the examination city from May 23, 2020 to May 28, 2020 (Till 5:00 pm). Direct link to edit JIPMER PG 2020 Application form.

    As stated in the official notice (mentioned above), the application deadline for JIPMER PG 2020 has been extended and the rescheduled date to complete the online application form for the same is now May 18, 2020. Furthermore, the date of JIPMER PG admit card issuance has been changed and pushed back further to June 06, 2020. All candidates are advised to keep checking the official website for any latest updates. 

    • JIPMER PG 2020 July session exam will be conducted on June 21, 2020, in online mode.
    • Candidates who have passed MBBS or equivalent degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) AND have completed 12 months of rotating internship/ practical training before December 31, 2020. Check here JIPMER PG 2020 Eligibility
    • JIPMER PG Application Process involves online registration, uploading photograph and signature, filling up application form and application fee payment.
    • Application Fees is INR 1600 for General/ OBC/ EWS category, INR 3000 for foreign nationals and INR 1200 for SC/ ST candidates. However, OPH and PWD candidates are exempted from fee payment. Check hereJIPMER PG 2020 Exam Pattern

    How to Apply?

    How to fill JIPMER PG 2020 Application Form?

    JIPMER PG 2020 Application Form can be filled in online mode only at the official website – jipmer.edu.in from March 4 – May 18, 2020. 

    Step 1 – Online Registration

    • Visit JIPMER PG official website – jipmer.edu.in
    • Click on the link “JIPMER MD/ MS – July 2020 Session”  
    • Then, click on “Apply online” link. The following Registration window will be displayed.
    • Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID and captcha.
    • Your login credentials –  registration number and password will be sent to your mobile and email ID.

    Step 2: Upload Photograph and Signature

    • Candidates have to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature in prescribed specifications.
    • Candidate should upload a recent color passport size photograph holding a placard stating your name and date of taking the photo which should be greater than July 1, 2020 as shown in below example.

    • Candidates also have to upload image of their signature done in running handwriting on a white paper with a black pen.

    Step 3: Fill JIPMER PG Application Form

    • Candidates need to enter their personal, communication and educational details.
    • Indicate your category, preferred subject and exam center and other details.
    • Fill the form very carefully as no option for correction is available and click on save and next/ submit button.

    Step 4: Pay JIPMER PG Application Fee

    • The final step in the application process is payment of fees.
    • The fees can be paid in online mode only via debit card/ credit card and Internet banking.
    • No other mode of fee payment is acceptable.

    Frequently Asked Questions 

    Ques.  I have chosen the science stream for my CHSE exam and am pursing my 10 + 2 in the same. Am I eligible to apply for JIPMER 2020? 

    Ans. Yes, you can fill in the JIPMER 2020 Application Form. To qualify for admission, you must obtain the marks that are neccessary. Until  you can attain the marks that are required, your admission is provisional. 

    Ques. How can one check their Application Status for JIPMER 2020? 

    Ans. There is no system that is presently set up for such a convenience. Once the candidates have submitted their application fee, they will attain a message that says that the transactions are completed, which means that the application is submitted successfully. 

    Ques. I have added a detail in the form that is incorrect by mistake. What should I do now? 

    Ans. Since there is no form correction facility available, you need to submit a new form. 

    Ques. Can a candidate apply with a village officer OBC (NCL) certificate? 

    Ans. If it is government-approved, then yes you can apply with that certificate. 

    Ques. I cannot login and do the payment. What should I do? 

    Ans. You can try after some time as the server may be down. 

    Ques. What is the duration of the MD / MS course? 

    Ans. Duration of the MD / MS course is Three (3) years i.e. 36 months from the date of admission. 

    Ques. What are the institutions allowed for Sponsored candidates? 

    Ans. Sponsorship / Deputation of candidates will be accepted only from the following: 

    • ​Central of State Government Departments / Institutions 
    • Autonomous Bodies of the Central or State Government 
    • Public Sector Colleges Affiliated to Universities and recognized by Medical Council of India, deputation / sponsorship certificate signed by the Principal of Medical College concerned only shall be accepted. 

    Ques. How can I apply if I am a foreign national and I have a MBBS degree? 

    Ans. Foreign Nationals candidates are required to route their application through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Goverment of India, New Delhi. All Foreign Nationals should register their MBBS Degree in the Medical Council of their respective countries and will have to take prior permission from the Medical Council of India (MCI) of their respective countries and will have to take prior permission from the Medical Council of India before applying for postgraduate courses in the Institution. 

    However, applications of such candidates will be processed after receipt of the same through diplomatic channels. These candidates are also required to appear in the entrance examination along with other candidates. Preferance will be given to the candidates from SAARC countries (Bhutan, Bangaldesh, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka). Selection of candidates will be made on merit based, on their performance in the entrance examination. In the event of selection, the candidates have to apply for temporary registration with the Medical Council of India for the duration of postgraduate study. 

    Ques. Are there any additional requirements for admission of foreign nationals? 

    Ans. Foreign Nationals should also keep these guidelines in mind:

    • Foreign Nationals are required to send their registration slip of online application through diplomatic channel. They are also required to appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination along with other candidates. An “advance copy” to be submitted at JIPMER before the last date of online registration. However, the application of all such candidates will be processed only after the receipt of the same through Diplomatic Channel. 
    • Foreign nationals will be considered against the seats advertised under the “Foreign National” category only for MD / MS courses. They should be registered with MCI before they will be allowed to join the said course, if they are selected for the same through entrance examination. 
    • Nominations / No objection for the candidate should reach of the Office of the Dean (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry – 605 006 before the date of issue of the Hall ticket as specified under “IMPORTANT DATES”. In case of non-receipt of the nominations / clearance / no objection from the concerned Ministry by due date, their candidature will not be considered. 
    • No emoluments will be paid by JIPMER to the Foreign Nationals candidates. 

    Ques. What is the UR (Unreserved) category in JIPMER PG 2020? 

    Ans. Unreserved stands for all applicants including OCI (Overseas Citizen of India). 

    Ques. What does Institute (INST) stand for? 

    Ans. Institute stands for an applicant who has studied and obtained his / her MBBS Degree from JIPMER. The word institute is not applicable to any other Medical Institution for the purpose of benefit against statuory reservations.  

    Ques. What category does an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) fall under? 

    Ans. The candidate should upload his/her OCI card at the time of filling the online application and the same should be submitted at the time of counselling. The OCI candidates will be considered only in Unreserved Category quota. Hence, the name will be included in the Overall Merit List.

    Hi Srijita, the registration number allotted once is final. There is no concept of temporary and permanent registration number.
